ok well
no spark. i think this is the problem and i dont even know what its called--lol
is there a way to test this w/o a multimeter? i dont have onewow my new home and no replies for over 5 hours does this make a diff. ? yesterday as she was warming up & i was putting on helmet and gloves she just stopped--dead fired up 5 mins later but next stop when getting gas she hasnt started make a diff ? Yes-and no. You might have a bad connection somewhere that rattles loose and then settles down. Check all the connections in the ignition circuit. Also add some Seafoam to your gas. I think you said over at Doc that you do/don't have spark. If it died while you were riding I would say CDI-Coil problem. Since you're saying it ran then wouldn't start, look for crud in the carb or a bad connection.

If it is a spark issue, it is most likely the CDI or the Coil, both are pretty cheap so if it were mine I'd replace both of them. Sometimes it can also be the pick up on the stator being out of adjustment or even a bad connection for a wire someplace.

im thinking the coil greg from mainepeace is sending 1

Coil might be it, sometimes they will just stop working after they are heated up, but I bey it is going to be the CDI in the end. I don't know what Greg charges but you can get them on ebay very cheap.

normaly you can tell a bad coil from the plug as it will either be realy white or be fould all beyound belife

it would look like this if it was fouled becuase of weak spark from the coil a coil with a poor conection will cause a white plug it will look like its too hot of a plug like this one
