My fuel vent that goes to the charcoal canister was leaking fuel. It is NOT from over filling. Even when the engine was not running and left in my garage over night it would continue to leak gas out of the canister, but only when I used the side-kick stand it would drip fuel? Any clue on why it would do that? I closed off the nipple on the canister, which stopped the leak, but I think it is causing my scoot to cut off every now and then. If I drill a hole in my gas cap would that help it vent and fix the problem? Sorry for the long post.

may work, though i would go to parts for scooters.com or something and just get a new cap, or maybe even auto zone. the gas cap is supposed to keep gas in there, lol. i had a similar problem when i hit hot weather in my old volvo.

How about just eliminating that system all together.

Love to, but doesn't the tank need to breath?

I believe what you are talking about is a fuel recirculating smog system. As long as the crankcase has a vent and you plug off the rest of the hose nipples you should be OK. I'd hold on to all the pieces until you confirmed that it is working OK without it.

What about the vaccum hoses or the one that goes to the intake manifold? Is there some kind of diagram that can show me how to do it?

I think somebody posted a thread here on that topic, I'll look for it but it may be this week end before I have the time .

FYI: I drilled a hole in the gas cap and plugged the vent hose and its been running great. I have not had it cut out on me one time in the last 3 days.
It seemed to fix the problem...hopefully.

Sounds like you have a plugged vent line then.

Yah, rebel. I plugged the vent. If you find that thread on how to take the canister out that would be great....when you have the time.
Thanks!

No luck finding it. These scooters typically have two lines running from the tanks fuel valve. One line goes to a fuel filter, the other is a vacuum line. The vacuum line may be teed off to other things. All you need for lines is one that is venting the crank case, normally a hose coming off the valve cover and going back towards the air cleaner box. Then one from the intake that is the vacuum line going to the fuel valve, sometimes a vacuum operated fuel pump if the tank is lower than the carb is. Then you need a fuel line that goes through a fuel filter and then to the carb. Some scooters have a PAIR system, sometimes referred to as a EGR system, here is a thread about that; scooterrebels.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=125plus&action=display&thread=1068
