Welcome to the forum.
You should be able to get away with that. Don't plug the other one though, it needs to vent someplace, it probably goes back to your air cleaner.

welcome to the forum
yes you can do that....but....
the metal tube is hooked to exhaust with a reed valve in that little metal box.
backfires can pop a cap off.( back fires will happen )
make sure the cap is on securely & remember to check it from time to time.
if the big nipple is open to the air, you may get an exhaust leak there.

WELCOME ghostrider0975
I took out the valve breather from the air intake as it put heat and oil vapor back into carb and some of the best debaters swear oil vapor displaces oxygen Etc.
I made a simple oil catch bottle that rest on engine with some padding, this cooks off water in the bottle and oil never builds up as it has a high rise line then back to bottle.

well the reason that I wanted to take this junk off my scoot is because the hose that was on the large port on the bottom of the valve cover just had an open nipple that had vaccume and was open to the elements and could have sucked in water and dirt...

ghostrider0975 if you mean the exhaust intake from air intake, it must be plugged very good. that u shaped port has a back flow meter on it held on but not into carb on most models, hose then goes to air intake--yours that way? ? mine did not have the second port your has, find blue fronts post, i am sick or would look for ya, but don't jury rig it--dangerous
