Ok so i screwed up my crank shaft and now the backing plate is slipping where i had to clean the metal from the drive plate. I crossed the splines and just didnt know wtf i was doing. I do now but its a little late. What i wonder is why i could find the exact width of the drive plate from factory and then measure mine now after the cleaning ive done. Why couldnt i take a stainless washer that is tough and thin and make up the gap therefore hopefully saving me from buying a crank shaft. I just figure its slipping cause its not as thick as it was where i had to use a file on it to flatten it back out. I know it could wear the belt if i dont keep the angle as close to stock as possible but i then again i dont see why it wouldnt work. I just gotta figure out how thick the plate is on a kymco agility 125.

I'd say, give it a try. I'm not entirely positive about what parts you are talking about, if you could post some photos of it you might clear things up some.

Im having trouble with photos on here but the drive plate is what the variator sits against. its what all the variator and boss cylinder all of it fits up against the drive plate. Where my backing plate wollered against it i had to clean the metal off it. The backing plate is what sits on top of the roller wieghts and hold them in place i guess. Some guess call it a ramp.

my guess from your post is you have damaged teeth on both the crank and drive plate ?
and that you now want to shift the drive plate to a different spot on the crankshaft where the teeth are intact.
if you shift the variator drive plate, with a washer, the belt will probably be misaligned and wear/fail quickly

done fixed the splines and there is only splines(teeth) on the tip of my shaft. I did mention the belt wear from the spacer being installed this is why i was gonna try to measure a stock one and then i could compensate for the gas thats in mine. Its not even a gap you can feel. Everything is on the scooter torqued down right and i can move my backing plate on the shft at all. I guess the torengine is alot more than i can do with my hand.If its that tight though you would thnk i could do a fix without replacing my crank if it mean fileing even more off the drive plate to make room for a spacer./

The plate you are talking about is what is labeled in the picture as a ramp plate isn't it?
