Yeah, Hondas are no trouble alright. My Big Ruckus blew a bearing in the final drive and the shaft that it holds is stuck so tight I think it might be spun welded in. It would be a great bearing puller if It was about six inches longer, but it's not. Any ideas how I can get either the shaft out or pull the shaft and bearing out of the case.

Sounds like a real problem. Are those CN 250's?

Nope, they're the horizontal motors. Like a Linhai Yamaha mill.

So the shaft does not rotate ate all?
From the drawings I've looked at there is a retaining clip ring is one of those in the way? If not, I'd give it a good tap with a hammer, you'd want to protect it with a block of wood, or use a dead fall hammer made of lead, brass, or plastic.

This bearing is in the case on the back wall. As far as I can tell the shaft should just slide out of the bearing. It's not coming out at all and when I look in at it the thing looks like it's become part of the bearing. Almost like it's welded in place. I looked at the Reflex manual, since it's the same engine, and it says the shaft should just pull out. Not happening.

I'd tap on it with a hammer then. If it is supposed to just come out, but it is not. it might need a little convincing.

I'll have to take a picture Doug. There's no room to swing a hammer. This is the clutch shaft and it only clears the cases by a couple of inches. What I really need is something that fits on the end threads that would extend it and let me try slide hammering it or putting something on the end I could hit.

That's a good idea. I have arranged with the local auto garage to give it a shot. The owner rides a Yamaha FJ 1100 and he's pretty cool. I'll tell him about the auto hammer idea. He might have a super air powered version. In the meantime I bought an old Yamaha 250 Exciter to work on too. It started yesterday then flooded when the float jammed. I took off the bottom of the carb and squirted in carb cleaner to loosen the float and try to get off the scale in there. Now it doesn't run at all. I'm thinking it needs a thorough cleaning. All these projects to occupy me.

After a long period of wrangling with the State they denied me a title for the Big Ruckus. I didn't do too much thinking about it and gave it to the garage where I took it to remove the shaft. They did, I had all the parts to fix it which they paid me for. Now it's their baby. I have the Exciter to occupy me now, plus the Chinese 150. I have the Exciter running, oddly but it moves. I'm sad about the Big Ruck, but life goes on.

Sorry to hear you were not able to get the Big Ruck going and titled. Just the way things go sometimes.
