2011 Jonway mc 250
Anyone can help me with this one? Battery not charging so i check the system. The reg/rec is working and sending 13.4 to 14.5 dc volt from its side of the plug. Now here is the problem: The battery side of the plug should be reading the battery (hot at all times) 12.5 to 12.8 but the wire in the plug from the battery side is dead volt meter shows 0. So I know if the battery volts are not coming from the battery then they charging volts cant be getting to the battery from the other end. Where does this wire go to? what does it plug into ? Any ideas? On the rec/reg side the wire is red w/ white cover, and on the battery side its brown. this rec/reg has 2 plugs coming from it.

yours is not an uncommon problem here is a link to a generic 54b wiring diagram home.roadrunner.com/~earlwbollinger/scooters/Circuit_Diagram.JPGI think there is a diode between the plug to the battery where you are measuring voltage and the battery itself. the diode is more or less a 1 direction electrical valve the diode would prevent you from showing a voltage, at that plug. the diodes also sometimes go bad. you can follow the wires, find the diode and test it. here is a link to a thread on another forum that may help. www.scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=250cc&action=print&thread=990this is quite a long thread but goes into detail evaluating how to correct a not charging problem on that model scooter. there are pics of the diode and several versions of the regulator rectifier.

after totally stripping the bike down, i remembered that my original fan blew. They sent me a new one that was bigger and i didnt think anything of it. So after i charged my battery last night and started my bike the meter at the battery read 13.2 and went just a little higher when i gave it a rev. when i disconnected the new fan my battery reading went to 13.5 - 13.7 and up to 14.5 when i rev it up. the new fan must be drawing more power than it should or it has a short in it somewhere. I am testing it now.

Ahhh, I can't count the times it has turned out that the problem was something that was worked on before, a part being replaced with a seemingly proper replacement but causing some kind of issue.

OK, since it is liquid cooled, you know not to run it. I have heard of three other solutions to heating problems.
1) adding a second radiator
2) venting the cvt to release built up heat in there
3) adding an oil cooler
by adding a secound radiator, it is possible to not need the fan from what some others have said that I have read on some forum someplace, don't recall where.
