Hello ! This is my first post and I hope someone can help. I have a 1985 Honda Aero 50 that keeps dying when it gets going . It has a CMR 63cc kit on it and a brand new carb. It starts fine and idles fine, but after a few minutes of riding , it dies when accelerating to top speed. After it dies it won't start unless it sits for an hour. If anyone has any ideas I would be very thankful for your input.

Welcome to the forum. I agree with jmkjr72, running lean & seizing up. Jet size in new carb?

would agree. either lean seizing or possibly flooding out. when it dies does it feel like its running out of gas? pull the plug and hold a lighter to it and see if it lights. I have also been taught that the best way to read a plug is after the bike has been run at wot. I will admit I am new to these bikes. Mine isnt even here yet. I am assuming that they have vent and overflow lines on the carb. If so lean the scoot over slowly and see how far over it goes b4 gas starts coming out of the overflow line. If it dcomes out b4 the bars are almost on the ground the float is way out of whack and there is so much fuel the motor cannot burn it all out

Looks like you were right. I had a Tech come and take a look. He said the carb was not adjusted at all and it had a pretty good oil leak from a loose part and too big of a hose. Thanks to you all for helping me out. I am riding it easy to break in the new cylinder kit. Enjoy the rest of summer !

Glad you got it all straightened out. Keep us up on things and enjoy the scooter.
