My SunL 150-26 scooter developed a consistent squeak in the front. I traced it to a disk brake. I suspended the front end of the scooter and rotated the wheel; than the brake disk touched the break shoe in one spot and without fail produces the squeak. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thank you, avgrin

Avgrin, Welcome to Scooter Rebels.
Sounds like a warped disk, you might just have to buy a new one. On a car you can get the disk "turned" to bring it back to specs, a scooter disk is probably too thin to do that with. If you want to have it checked you can pull the wheel off, remove the disk and take it to a automotive parts store that does disk turning and ask them to look at it.
Another problem with disk brakes and squeaks has to do with the pad actually vibrating and making a squeaking noise. That problem is solved by putting some anti squeak that is available as a paste in a tube or I've seen both a spray and a pad to use, you put it on the back of the disk pad.

there is a tube of stuff called "sil-glide" its a speacial lube for brakes what you do is remove the caliper clean and lube the "slides" the metal posts that let the caliper slide in and out and lube the back metal part of the brake pads where it touches the caliper, and scuff the shinny of the brake pads with a piece of rough sand paper or by rubbing it accross rough congrete in a swirling way , the shinny on the pad itself is ccalled glazing and it happens from gasses released during braking getting trapped between the pad and the disk . gently scuff the rotor in a circular pattern with the sand paper as well ,youlle notice a significant reduction in noise .

Rebel and Kuzikood , Thank you for the advice to look at the rotor (warped disk). I unscrewed one axle nut (17mm) and three Allen hex bolts (6mm), and the front rotor was off. First, I placed it on a glass table but didn’t find deformity; second, went with caliper around the rotor and still couldn’t find a problem. So I reassembled the wheel and tightened it with a torque ratchet to recommended 40 lb.f. After that the rotor stopped rubbing against brake as much and noise is gone. So I suspect that the axle nut was too tight and it caused the rotor to have improper position to disk brake pads. Next I’m going to try sil-glide.
Thank you again.

your very welcome sil glide is awesome stuff if you have a leaky sunroof ...the pop up type simply open the sunroof on a warm day let it sit open for about an hour in the sun then carefully but liberally aply the sil glide to the rubber gasket and let sit in the sun for another hour or so then park in the shade for a few hours close the sunroof and poof no more leaks
