While I was doing some periodic maintenance on the Tank I noticed something that appears to be missing on the engine and I have no idea what it may be. It is just to the left of the carburetor intake and looks as if the hole is threaded. What is missing if anything.

Harry is right, you should buy a plastic cap or go to the local hardware and buy a bolt that matches the threads.
Any hardware store, Lowes, Home Depot, Ace or anyone will have one that fits.
I think it is an 8mm, I don't remember. I personally don't like plastic caps as they pop off and get lost.
The threads are there for a reason. It will be 8 or 10mm. They are cheap just but them at 5 cents a piece and see which one fits.

I actually found the missing bolt laying between the carb and engine. Reinstalled it with a star/washer.
