about a month ago I bought a friends sunnysport 50cc. I had so much fun with it I sold it and picked up a KMD MC-807 (Lance Milano, Carino and various other names). Miles said 700 although I'm sure the speedo and odometer is off...most likely around 500. The body is perfect. The rear brakes rattle. The auto choke is not working and other than low oil seems to be running fine. Upon pick up and drove it home (as it was too big to get into the pick up). I got it up to 60mph (tracked with a gps). I probalby shouldnt have pushed it so hard considering I have no idea if the original owner even changed the oil. I've been reading a lot and looking foward to tuning it up. I have to say though I kind of wish I kept the 50cc as it was a lot of fun to ride. This one the body style is huge and gives less of a scooter feel if that makes any sense.

Welcome to the forum.
Nice looking scooter. If you got it up to 60mph, you have a sweet running scooter, they usually top out at about 50 - 55 out of the box.
Do you have any plans for modifying it?

well that is 60 on a slight downward slope Yes after I replace the autochoke I plan on swaping out the airfilter and rejetting the carb. Then swap out fuel lines and fuel filter ect. I don't want to jump in and spend too much right away but in a few months I definetly want to swap out the exhuast.

Living where you do, you probably won't have a lot of concern about putting an aftermarket air cleaner on it. Some people have problems with them getting wet when it rains. One thing you can do in the meantime while you are not wanting to spend money is just to drill some holes in the air cleaner box to let a little more air flow in without restriction. You'd still need to keep up on reading the plug and making sure you are not running too lean.

That is a good idea I might try that first (drill holes in the airbox).

Nice thing about drilling holes is that it is free, and if it messes things up, a little duct tape or electricians tape can fill the hole up easily. You can get a plastic welding kit from harbor freight and make a permanent repair too.

I'm thinking about trying this on the Carino now that I have a better exhaust system. I,m cautious of the sock type filters because I ride in the rain occasionally (not intentionally).

i saw that that earlier. I might do this. For this body you would have to take off the side panel to gain full access to the airbox..correct? and I noticed he pointed them back....if its for air, wouldnt it help to have them turn the other way? forced induction

Nice scooter you have there X3. And nice job on the speedo shot. I like the focus on it.
Holes in the airbox plan is a solid one. You'll probably need to increase the main jet a couple of sizes, but the pilot ought to be ok just by adjusting the slow speed mixture screw. Do a throttle chop and read the plug for the main.
