Hi peeps! Here is my scenario. I gat the Lance GSR 150/170. I cannot get any CDI to work but stock. It was the same before I installed the BB kit. Here is a pic of the three I tried. The one on the far left blows fuses as soon as you turn the key. The other two do not produce any spark. The wiring schematic in my manual and online are useless. The wire colors are completely different and I don't have as many tail lights the schematic shows. The schematic is on page 43 in this PDF link. www.lancepowersports.com/docs/gs-r150/GS-R150_Manual.pdfAny Ideas? Paul

No clue here as well. Without a wiring schematic it doesn't look good.

HeHe, I just tried to re-wire the expensive Casoli into my harness, turned the key and POP! The thing almost caught on fire, LOL.
What bike do you ride Shiftless?
I was thinking about hitting up Carlos on this. I guess he is the only one that can help me as well.
Grounds are very important, I could not agree more. All my grounds have been sanded.
I wish this wasn't such a pain in the arse..

Mine's an 08 Roketa MC75 with the 1P57QMJ It's running a 61mm kit with perf head and A8 cam V8 stainless exhaust Does your cdi have four wires in one terminal and 2 in the other ? That's the way mine is, the typical QMJ has 3 and 2 My scoot has a 12 pole stator as well
The cdi I pictured came from Carlos and it was advertised fort P engines only and will not not work on standard QMJ I had hell finding a cdi to work on this scoot

Do you have any guess as to why the 1P needs a different CDI?

This really strange that the engine numbers are all wired different.
This makes no sense.
Someone could make ALLOT of $$$ if the made adaptors.
What you think Doug? Lets make some money! ;D

I think what we really need is a complete wiring harness that can just replace the OEM and be good for any GY6 sounds like a plan to me, make a universal wiring harness to transplant and save a lot of CDI issues for people with strange scooters that need some unique hard to find part.

if i had the time i would buy a replacement harness take it down into sub sections , blue print it , and start building high quality sub harnesses and hock them on ebay , i know they would sell and would be simple a cheap to make "i used to make wiring harnesses for locomotives so these on the scoot are childs play lol

Do you have any guess as to why the 1P needs a different CDI? I have not a clue I've been told numerous things from ac powered vs dc powered cdi I do know the wiring is different on mine from most as I mentioned previously my cdi requires 6 wires, where most others I have seen have 5 Also my temporary engine I'm running while I sort out my bore engine does not burn the headlights below 2500 rpm 2500 plus and the lites work fine I'm sure it has something to do with the difference in the stators I tried several different cdi's before I found the OKO

have you tried replacing the regulator? it could be the cause they tend to do funny things when they are going out
