new poster, Sarasota,Fl.
ordered the TaoTao CY50-T3 May 10th. Charge was held as pending by my bank (BB&T) until the 16th & cleared on the 17th (who knows why ?). I was notified by GSM of shipment & the scooter was shipped on the 18th. notified by shipper that it was in Tampa at depot on the 20th (Friday), was delivered on Monday, the 23rd.
price $719 delivered.
container had several areas with packing tape, over all intact. cardboard shell removed. scoot had no marks of any kind. 2 of the angle iron struts were bent. 2 bolts at corners were loose/off.
I took photos at this stage, just in case.
nothing broken on the scoot by my inspection.
orange and black. the orange scoot on the GSW web page is not a T3, the one pictured does not have dual rear shocks.
MCO and BOS still pending.
unpacked and assembled in about an hr.
fit and external finish on a par with my last scoot, a 50cc Yamaha 4cy purchased locally for about $2500 in '93 or so from a local B&M.
The CY50 T3 looks like a "hunter" style scoot, and more or less a 50 on a 150 frame.
has 12" rims and dual rear shocks.
the 12" tires are 100/60 and look like garden hose on the rims.
has been in my shop waiting.
will go over the scoot Sat & see how it starts etc.
plan for a Kliff type PDI.
havin to work for a living sure slows down workin on scoot stuff.
at this point I am satisfied with GSM.
have not found any reviews of a Taotao scoot on the web. only 1 or 2 isolated posts here and there about 4th tier. nothing in depth, neither good or bad.
have a scrappy 72cc BBk ready to install if it cranks and runs.
will post more when I can pull it down and see under the body panels.
PS: I'm Ole Miss, Class of '79 so a "Rebel" for sure. Never knew Ole Miss has a scoot forum before.... LOL.
