Just wondering, how do you break in your new scooters.... (1) ride em like you stole em (2) follow the factory recommendations (3) make up your own procedure

Getting a new scooter shufu?
Slow break in is such a pain for anything, I bet even those that say they do it, don't really.

Yes, I just bought a 2011 Znen 150T-Z. The reason I'm asking this is because my other scooter, the Linhai, I did everything it said to do, but instead of miles, I did it in Km. (if it said change the oil at 1,000 miles, I would change it at 1,000 Km etc.) It gets ridden hard everyday and its still going strong. I'm just hoping that this one will hold together just as well......

Good for you, Znen has a decent reputation for Chinese scooters, I hope you got a good one.
If you had luck going by the book I'd suggest you do the same with this one.

I'm just wondering if both engine's will use the same parts... The Linhai has a LH157QMJ-A engine and the Znen has a BN157QMJ-A engine. I know that the 1= single cylinder, 57= the bore, Q= GY6 engine, and MJ= 150cc I'm assuming the LH stands for Linhai, so what does the BN and the A stand for?

I'm not sure what the "A" is for, but you are correct about everything else. You should have no problems with parts compatibility.

Well, I gave my scooter a slow break in.. I did not stick to the break in, the chinese suggested but fairly close. So I rode 30 mph for 150 miles, up to 45 mph 150 miles, 55 for 150 miles, and the rest is history. But I have 4300 miles on my Bali 250 today, runs perfect..

Znen engines are prefixed "BN". BN157QMJ is the standard 149.6cc engine, BN157QMJ-3 is 149.6cc w/16" wheels. Don't know what the "A" stands for.

New scoot, new setup, whatever... I ride 'em hard. The main thing I do on the first ride is make sure I don't keep the RPM constant. I make sure it gets put under a heavy load early.

About a week ago I got rid of my 2 chinese bikes and bought a new Kymco People 200. Great bike, excellent ride. My question on breaking it in is "how do I keep it under 50 mph?" I touch the throttle and it flies. Is this bad for the engine? It seems to want to go faster rather than slower. If I have to take it easy on it for a month or so I will try but I am not use to the fuel injection and this bike just goes.
