Got sick of running my 250 all around. Gonna spend some time with the Bali.
Ran it down to the foot of Mount Rainer today. Little 70 mile round trip.
Gonna take a run at the big kahuna.

You got to keep the oil circulating While the views are spectacular...the drops off the side of the road are somewhat...intimidating...so my little oil pump will be doing plenty of pitter patter pitter patter. As far as the bike...it'll be WOT from Enumclaw for 50 miles or so uphill.

Get some good numbers before you change it out, on the mileage. I'd just like to see an independant confirmation that some of my simpler mods are worth the effort, for guys just starting out, or on a super tight budget.

Well it looks like a solid 10 MPG gained on the muffler drill out!! Guys this is a very simple mod and if you have a welder or access to one it's worth it!! Just take off the back chrome cover if you have one like Harry and my Bali does and take a long 12" or longer 5/16" or even 3/8" drill bit and drill one hole right on top of the exhaust outlet and keep drilling until you go through the outside and then the next two inner partions or walls. Pull it out and drill another hole the same way right below the exhaust outlet. Then take a slightly larger drill bit and in my case it was a 5/8" and it can be the normal length and then drill out the exhaust outlet hole itself. The the top and bottom smaller hole weld it up on the outside or one might plug it with some large sheet metal screws and some J B Weld and then put the old chrome cover back on. No one will ever know ya touched it. Maa's Bali went from around 63 to 73 mpg with this simple and $0 job I did. JR GOOD DEAL! Most folks don't, and I don't blame them, beleive numbers like that. Glad you went out on the limb, and verified them for me, jr.... I like finding these low buck improvements. It's amazing how "stifled" these little pwer plants actually are!
