Quick question here. I have a Jonway 50cc frame and forks. It came with 10" rims and tires. Ive already converted the back to a 13" by means of new engine. What i was wondering does anyone know if you can mount a 13" front rim and tire to the 50cc shock/forks? And will the brakes mach up or do I need to find a whole set up forks, shocks, disk brakes, rotor, etc.etc.etc. Thanks in advance. Tim

Looks like you have enough room the big question is the one about the brakes fitting. I do not remember anybody here trying to make the change over.

If the disk is the same size on both wheels you might have a good shot that the larger wheel causing not big problem. Size of the disk, width of the wheel and offset of the disk would be the things to check I think.

Thats what I was thinking. I'm going to order a 13" front rim in a week or so and just go from there. Not in a big hurry to get it done.

im curious about this also, i wanted to convert mine, but have no idea if it will work. im thinking of just going with the wheels off the jonway wasp. i have a feeling those will work for me, but im running the minerelli style engine.

Rear wheel clearance can be a problem along with the splines meeting up correctly.

i figured that converting it may require fabbing a hub adapter and running a different shock and tire combo. been rolling that one around in my head a while. might need to buy a few and see what floats.
hmm...

Thanx for the measurements Rebel. Haven't had time to really look em over but I will this weekend. Quick glance looks like ill be buying a whole set up. Looks like possibility for more chrome on the scoot.

One thing to consider on a "whole set up" the fork from a 150 might not fit in the frame, I think it just won't, the 150cc version for your scooter is larger over all if my memory serves me right. the tubes might fit your triple tree, I just don't know. So before you spend a lot of money get some hard facts about the fit.

Going to the You pull it scrap yard here and pick up a 150 scoot its all there just got hit mid-ship and broke the frame in half. Don't remember the name of it but i do know its a Chinese GY6 scoot. complete motor drive train and all. I should be able to get it for bout $50 or so. Should have enough parts to make something work.
