leo, welcome! Tell us about your scooter, what is it, have you done any mods to it beyond drilling holes int the cvt cover? it's a 2007 komoto, paid $1000 for it and it had 82 miles on it when i bought it. i also didn't know anything about scooters except you get on them and ride. this komoto of mine has been a learning experience for me for sure. the only "mod" i've done was the holes in the CVT cover. i drilled them to keep my case cool. my previous rollers broke into about 100 pieces because of excessive heat. little did i realize it would solve my overheating problem but it did. the bike already had a uni filter. the parts i replaced were an intake manifold. heavier rollers. variator. the original was broken inside. drive belt. rear tire. installed an iridium plug. this went a long way to prevent missing. removed the vacuum operated fuel valve. i can now ride without giving it gas all the time. recently i've been having battery drain problems, traced the problem to the regulator/ rectifier. replaced the R/R and found out why it failed. the stator is shorted to ground, so i'll have to replace that probably tomorrow. i'm not sure but i believe i have the 172mm-a 244 the case can mount a 13" rim.

I've seen it done, making a gasket from a paper grocery bag. You can also get gasket material at the auto parts store to make one. Silicone makes a good gasket replacement and is much easier.

my water pump, oil fill, and oil drain are in the stator housing. i need to remove an external oil line and the water hoses from the pump. i will need to remove the muffler. the screw heads looked like 8mm, about 6 or so. shouldn't be too much of a problem. i wonder how the stator is mounted? hopefully its bolted into the cover.
