hey, im just curious if it is possibly to getting a rim machined to fit a larger axel. ive bought 2 rims so far, one is to wide and the other rim has to small of a brake drum. im getting fed up and im wondering if i can take the rim with the wrong axel size and getting it machined from 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch. can they re-do the splines in the shop? or would it be easier/cheaper to get my axel machined down and re-splined?

Sure, it is possible. I think I'd go with machining out the rim instead of turning down the axle, I'd be concerned about loss of axle strength.
Back in the dark ages, my father built a sand buggy, the guys doing that back in the early 60's would take the rim to a machine shop where they would cut it and expand it out several inches to widen it so wider tires could be put on and give them better traction for the sand. I wonder if the reverse could be done for your wider rim.

hmm, it would be interesting to see if they can make the wider rim a bit skinnier. i didnt think it was possible though

Anything is possible with the right skill set and proper tools. But the wheel being an alloy instead of steel might be the limiting factor. Welding magnesium is more than a bit tricky.
