We got the Omni running and a seat put on. It ran just perfectly for about a half an hour. then it just quit. If I pull the enricher it runs perfectly but if I let it go, it dies. This is the carb thats on it. Its a Clinton, Deni. Also the two ports on the top beside the tower. I believe one is for a vent to the tank. The other, any ideas. No hoses on anthing.

sounds like a vacuum leak to me, check you gaskets on top of the reed valve assembly and look for a break/crack downstream from the carb.
do you have any vacuum lines?

if you have any question I'd put some kind of cap on them and see what it does after that. If it was running right for a while and it did not have a plug there, I would think it was strange that it just started running bad because of those. Check the bolts on your intake and make sure they are snug and didn't loosen up after running.

you have a gravity feed tank right(if not one is for the fuel pump) do you have a manual or a vacume petcock(if vacume one goes to the petcock) where does your oil inject in on this engine
reed block base is a spot the intakes tend to crack try and get her running for a bit and have your son put some short burts of starting fluid around the intake and the reed block and listen for the revs to pick up and you do have the air box on right they normaly dont run right without the air box on properly but like reble says i would start looking for a vacume leak

I'll start looking for a leak. As far as the reed block base. I am unsure where that would be. I am really new to this engine!
Thank you for the direction! I'll get started in the morning.

The oil tank is inside the gas tank. Would the second hose to the tank from the carb be some sort of actuator valve to the oil tank?

there should be some sort of oil pump and the oil should be injected into the carb or the intake manifold but it may be something diffrent on yours like i said never worked on one
as for the reed block its normaly under the intake manifold

through the replies I found out the scoot has a Yamaha engine and was primarily used in the Geely scooters. I did a google search for Geely Scooter carb schematic and found this page. www.scootusa.com/carb_adjust-2.htmFrom that we made sure the carb was still tight to the intake and then made sure the vacuum line to the rear side of the tower was tight and then re-adjusted the fuel mixture adjustment screw. Bad Biker Dude took the idle screw in all the way and back out 3.5 turns and the fuel mixture adjustment screw in all the way and back out 1.5 turns. I still had to pull the enricher to keep it running so he backed out the idle screw another half turn and it sounded better but not great. He backed it out another half turn and it killed so we took it back in a half turn and left it. We got it started again and tightened the fuel screw a half turn and it just purred. He took it out for a ride and it ran like a dream. Just a small bit of blue smoke but I think its perfect! here is a video of the test pilot, Bad Biker Dude, taking it through the paces.
