The $1500 Strada RX8 is interesting, but at 246 lbs dry, it seems kinda heavy for a 49cc bike. How much lard could practically be removed? From what I have seen they are pretty much exact clones of the Triton. Mine was said to be 207lbs dry. I cut off 10-15lbs when I made mine naked. The oil pump, hoses, and oil resevior could be removed and you could premix to drop a couple of pounds. The alarm, wires, and horn weigh 1-2 pounds. You could ditch either the kickstand or the main stand. Hollow out the stock exahsut or buy an aftermarket pipe to lose a few more pounds. Also thought about the Rattler's little brother, the 49cc Roughouse. At $2000 MSRP, it's not significantly smaller than the Rat, seen side-by-side. It seems to be well-regarded. Unrestricted (by removing a variator washer and opening the exhaust), it is said to be good for an honest 45mph. Don't know the engine type, and nobody''s 'specs' for it list the weight. It's a really cool looking scoot. Looks like it could be a minarelli, maybe not. I can't tell for sure from the pics I've seen. See if a dealer can tell you.

ok just a bit on the rought house it is based off of the yamaha zuma so it runs the horizontal minarelli and even has the same front brakes
if i had found the genuine dealer before i bought my zuma i would be on a rough house right now
there are a fair amount of parts for it out there and scooterworks has a bunch of parts for the rough house(genuines parts source)

But those 10-inch wheels...think I read somewhere that PGO had 12" wheels on the Asia version; for some reason, the US model has 10s...so maybe retrofit to 12s could be done...

Have been looking around at choices for street/trail tires for the CT70 clone already -was pointed at the Michelin Reggae 120/90-10 - that's a nice looking fat tire right there, ok...
