I am building a Honda Passport/ Fly Scout hybrid using a 1982 Honda frame and a 1981 Honda front fork. I am still looking for a Honda swingarm. The Chinese metal, welding and geometry will not work for me. The build quality is terrible. See the large gap on the scout forks were the two halfs come together. That made it too big to turn in the bracket that goes around the top portion of the forks...so the Chinese took a hammer and beat the hell out of it to give it some clearance. It was still rubbing. Thats exactly the way it looked when I took it apart. That is a 1981 Passport fork next to it. The steering stem was drilled off center. Not much metal on the thin side... Not much weld holding the steering stem to the forks compared to the Honda fork. The Honda fork is noticeably heavier than the Chinese fork. And I haven't got to the frame yet.

That is disappointing about the scout. Looks like the Fly quality was not up to what the hype claimed.

That is disappointing about the scout. Looks like the Fly quality was not up to what the hype claimed. Maybe it was just mine and the rest of them are OK.. The frame is just as bad or worse... That Honda fork was blue. I stripped it down to the bare metal this morning. I have a small amount of body filler on the imperfections setting up and will get a coat of primer on it. I can paint too.. I am going to put tapered roller bearings in the steering. DrATV sells them. I don't do any thing half azz. On a side note...the build quality on that kymco 150 is top notch. Its as good as Honda.

I'm wondering what quality is like on the BMS scooters that look the same as your Kymco. The guys that have them are happy with them so it makes you wonder anyway.
