Well, I had a handling problem every time I got the Fly Scout up to 50 mph. I thought it was the cheap Chinese tires so I put some Michelins on.
Took it out today and the same thing, get it up to 50 and the handling goes all to heck. I took it home and started measuring every thing and found the front wheel is out of plum by an inch. Took the covers off and the steering head leans to the left by 8 degrees. The frame tube was turned a bit when welded into the frame body.
I bought a 1982 Honda passport bare frame for 50 bucks and will dissemble the whole bike and build it up around the Honda frame.
I will have so many Honda parts on this bike I will just call it a Honda.. So much for riding for a while.

Good find on the passport frame, but what a PITA!
Will you be able to put all your body panels back on? Are the lugs in the right places? Or are you going to have to do some mods to it.

Yeah that thing is almost a direct copy of a Honda Passport. I already put front shocks and front suspension arms from a Honda and a few other misc parts. Every thing has been a perfect fit.
I have a 1982 Honda factory manual and all the measurements are the same. Of course the engine is 110cc and the brake drums are larger. I believe every thing else is pretty much the same. I guess I like a good project. I've done enough of them over the years. Some day I need to retire from this...

Who did you buy it from? Doesn't it have a warranty? Even though they've gone under Flyscooters still has a legal obligation to take care of customer problems for the term of the original warranty. They just can't lock the doors and say "Adios".

There's nothing they can do...there are NO frames available, and I do not want another Chinese frame anyway. For 50 bucks I am taking the best solution. And I rather do it my self and do it right and correct any other problems. This is no big project for me. I restored British sports cars for over 20 years frame up. I am old now and not up to taking on a car but a small bike...not a problem The Chinese paint sucked also. I will paint it with DuPont acrylic enamel with hardener and it will shine like a diamond in a goats azz.. This is the one I bought for 50 bucks. The guy is sending me a bill of sale and I will be able to get a title in Tennessee.

Interesting problem. Kinda rare to. Any news on how the frame swap went or is going? That's cool you can get a title. Any pics of the build?
