The little cub clones should do well on gas. When you get the urge you can put a 125 cc motor in it too and probably get to 65 mph and still get 70 mpg.

I don't know what MPG mine gets. I haven't checked it. I believe they make a 125 BBK for the 110cc. I have to say after getting the carb straightened out, adding a K&N filter in the air box and adding a couple of extra air inlets in the box, adding a high performance coil and a AW minimoto CDI. the little scoot hauls the payload. It has much more pep especially in the low to mid range. I still don't know what the absolute top speed is. I will find that out this spring, if it ever gets here.
I did buy a performance exhaust by Moriwaki Engineering of Japan. This has a titanium pipe and aluminum muffler. The workmanship is top notch. They are very expensive. I bought this one slightly used for cheap.
Its made for a Honda C70 and that makes it 1/4 inch short for the brackets lining up. I got to do some modification to it. The 110cc cylinder is 1/4 inch longer.

The 110cc big bore kits are usually 114cc. There is a big difference in a stock 110cc and a 114cc, thanks to compression. 125s have a longer stroke. I used to be heavy into midbikes that share the same engines. The problem is, I got out of them and into scooters and right after than the bigger 140cc+ stuff started coming along more. I'm not exactly sure what's out there now. Here's a bunch of info I wrote about 5 yeas ago about an X18 midbike. It would wheelie all 4 gears (even when you didn't wanna) and go about 50MPH. It could have easily went faster, but the rear wheel on this thing as so small (6") it made gearing rough. I'm the big guy BTW, not the one that's scared of it. lol I still have it with an 88cc. Why not just look for a trail 90 or a need of repair cub to put that little motor into.

They are hard to come by and I'd probably end up paying almost as much for an in need of repair version of those as a new Chinese scoot, and then I'll prob have rust and who knows what to deal with. I rebuilt the top end of a Trail 110 a bit ago after a valve broke. It really wasn't on the higher quality level that I was expecting for the genuine Honda motor. Not worth extra money and trouble for what I want I don't think. If I happened upon one local and cheap, then I might consider a good roller. Never see them on my local craigslist or other ads though. It's mostly 139qmbs here. There was an old Cushman on there or something like a Cushman. I dunno, I really don't know much about those. Might just be a minibike, but the motor isn't the typical Briggs. easternshore.craigslist.org/mcy/2204317324.html

Oh, that is not any kind of a Cushman. It's somebodies old mini bike kind of looks a little like a "tote goat" with that big back tire and the jake shaft. I bet it is geared real low for some pulling power.
Possibly the motor is a Tecumseh ?

Been looking around a bit and I figured I'd post this here since I said I wasn't sure what's out there for the pit bike engined scoots. Looks like 172cc kits with 4 valve heads are the way to go for serious performance from one of these little motors. There's just no way the 139QMB could ever compete with this and be a good daily ride.
