Went very well. At first I thought oh shyt! Rode for about 10 mins, up and down the power band then let her sit for 15 or 20. Did it a couple times more and BAM! WOW! This is china miles I will say but, going up hill at 42 mph is now about 52mph. Straight and flat, Had NO prob reaching over 60 and had plenty of throttle left! On the other hand, now I need a carb. I can hear the air be sucked in like a vacume. That is not good. That means the velocity of the air is to fast, thus sucking up TOO much fuel. Re-jetting won't help. The head, valves and carb should not have to fight. Now I need a larger carb. Any ideas? I checked twice tonight and nothing is leaking now, YAY! Ganna go back to that 2K rpm set up and tear my buddies 400cc up! ;D

Seems that there is a flat side carb some people have bought off ebay that is supposed to be good, I know little to nothing about it but hopefully somebody else will chime in on this.

Dude, Paul, you have to get a Mikuni flatslide. Mine was so easy to install, and it has been a breeze to tune. Every needle, part, jet is commonly available, the list of pros goes on and on for these. I got the 28mm flatslide, but I overdid it. I highly doubt I am seeing any benefit over the 24mm flatslide. The TM24 flatslide is about $110 shipped, so yes, it's a little more than the ebay flatslides, but you know the quality control will be top notch. Plus, I can easily show you how to modify your throttle cable without having to buy a new one. What are you going to use as an air filter? Hopefully a filter that will fit directly onto the carb for maximum flow velocity. Here are some photos of my Mikuni TM-28 (aka, the VM-28-418). It is very similar to the TM24 flatslide. I was advised by many different people to go with the 24mm version of the Mikuni TM series. I ignored their warnings, but I seemed to have lucked out otherwise. Tuning was a breeze, and i've never had to re-tune it from 40 degrees to 90 degrees at sea level. Sudco.com does sell directly to consumers if you call them. Or if you want to order it online, a good price is at: 28mm flatslide: www.powersportsuperstore.com/Mikuni-VM28-418-SQ-SLD-CARB-CMPLT-VM28-418-p/tr42-6090.htm24mm flatslide: www.powersportsuperstore.com/Mikuni-TM24-8001-FLT-SLD-CARB-CMPLT-TM24-8001-p/tr42-6091.htm

Oh, i've never had to use the choke on my Mikuni flatslide. Scooter3oy over at SD reported that he did have to use his choke on his ebay flatslide. Messing with the choke cable/plunger should go into the equation somewhere.
