Hi All, first post here and probably not the last. i've got a hybrid scooter i've labelled Chinukus or just plain "bastard" its a 2009 Shanghai Honling Ruckus Knock off, i guess the real name is a HL-50QT-11 (or 9, i cant remember) while that was fun, it wasnt good enough, i bought THIS off of a guy. he started to make a chopper out of a 150cc Big Chief (2005) scooter (159qmj) lost interest or something, so i got it with a full wiring harness/dash etc and now i have this project which is far from being done, i mounted the 159qmj into my frame using some square steel tubing, swapped a few parts (cdi, coil etc) from the 150cc harness. i also picked up a couple 150cc shocks from the junkyard and welded in some mounts next i need to turn down the uptube on the 150cc front fork so i can mount it in the 50cc neck and then make some custome handlebars. however, i am contemplatin making a new front end using the 50cc rear shocks in addition to the front shocks there is also a 150cc scooter in the junk yard with a rear disk brake setup that i think i can get pretty cheap. i would like to investigate making a 4 lug hub for the rear to put on a slightly wider rim. So there... thats my excitement. well.. that keeps my busy while not working on my old subaru or my motorcycle pick after i put it back together following a super fun crash in May. (i dont recommend it! LOL) Gotta get the scooter ready for RockerBox '11 ***** www.rockerbox.us ***** check out episode 10 of Cafe Racer on Discovery HD Theater, my buddy Miles Fox is interviewed at the show.

hmm weird, not sure why the pics didnt work, PM me and i'll get you some better links. cool to hear someone else has one of these, i really couldnt find a damn thing about them online at all. other than the fact they fall in to the "chinese scooter" category. LOL.
not the fuel tank, i just bent up some license plates to fill the gaps on the sides and front of that section so i could transport some stuff, with the new motor i think i am going to make a trailer to cart around my bowlin bag. i am possibly looking at relocating the battery under there tho, either there or at the base of the front of the frame. The actual fuel tank is under the footboard. I have a fire extinguisher which i am contemplating making a fuel tank out of, however, its still good, so i need to have a fire first. LOL!

no sweat...
ling ling.. haha. that sounds familiar, is that from a movie? Kill bill maybe? i could be wrong... just got back from a holiday party. LOL.
i found a LED bar i had from a subaru impreza spoiler 3rd tail light, i think i am gonna try to rewire it as a rear/brake light maybe with a few relays integrated as turn signals, we'll see, i have to see how the circuit is wired. its 56LED's wide, bright as heck!
EDIT: i just looked it up.. Ling Ling is a giant panda that died in 2008 in japan, i dunno why i remember that.

Ok I gotta ask a stupid question- Why is the license plate photo shopped out? I mean obviously it's for privacy but I mean what good can a plate number do? Can people google it and get your personal info or something? Sorry seen it before in forums & on facebook but this is the straw & now I gotta know LOL

Ahhhhhh ok figured such was the case just wasn't totally sure since like I've said I've seen it both ways- for all to see & shopped out. Either way just want to make sure its clear I wasnt busting chops I just wanted to know how/if you could get info w/ a plate #. Thanks for the confirmation of a hunch

Can people google it and get your personal info or something? Sorry seen it before in forums & on facebook but this is the straw & now I gotta know LOL well... kind of a habit, say for instance you post a pic of your stock looking honda thats got a custom swapped in corvette motor in it, someone might recognize the plate and know that would be the one to steal. but its true, info isnt that hard to get if you know how to get it. in WI, i could fill out a form, send in $5 and get all the owners info like name address, etc, etc. however, you'd have to lie on the form because it asks you why you are lookin for the info, which is a felony offense. shoppin out the plate pretty much unnecessary in my case as you can see everything is a bit original and somewhat obnoxious. gotta get some better weather in WI here so i can continue work on the scooter. its high of 20 degrees which isnt too bad, but we got a ton of snow with that storm last week, had drifts up to 7-8 feet with the wind and all. garage is wet from all the melting snow on the cars and such.
