I got my buddies pipe Saturday ;D. I gave him cash and my old pipe in trade for his. He is into go-karts big time and he was hard up for cash so he could get a new clutch for his toy. So it kinda worked out well for us both, he still has a scooter to ride(slower) and can get a clutch for his go-kart, and i have the pipe i needed so desperately. I had to work allot this weekend so i didnt have much of a chance to ride with it until last night. Im very happy with it so far ;D. I can see what scoot-attack means when they say it isnt responsive on the low-end, but when it comes on its ON. Its like i go from a little bog from a dead stop to hang on im outta here gotta go lol. Heres a pic of it now, kinda dirty and rusty but by the time i get done with it, it should look allot better. I wish i would have thought to take a pic of the two pipes together .

I was thinking about wrapping the header part of my pipe with header wrap. Anybody ever try that? Pros-Cons? Or just a bad idea?

Never messed with it on a scooter. I've done it on my car to try and reduce underhood temps. I hated it. It was ugly IMO, and didn't really do much for temps. I pulled it back off and spent $600 to have all my pipes recoated. A lot of people like it though. If header wrap gets wet it will retain water and cause premature rusting. It did let me change my spark plugs about 5 minutes sooner than just the jet hot coated pipes.

Good point on the wrap retaining moisture, i hadnt thought of that. I think i will just paint it grill paint.

If you wanted to put some work into it you could probably sand it until it looks pretty nice then use a few coats of high temp clear coat. The BBQ black is so much easier though. Jet Hot would be sweet, but I'd guess $100 or better for that pipe with their Sterling coating. Might as well buy a new pipe at that rate.

This may sound silly to some of you but its in my blood i cant help it. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS AT HOME, THIS WAS DONE BY COMPLETE TRAINED IDIOTS I got into a race with my first cager yesterday. I wouldnt have even thought about it if i didnt think the three guys in the Honda CRV were laughing at me on my little Skeedr. I was on my way back from campus when went by them, they were waiting on me to go by so they could pull out onto the road. Thats when i thought i caught some giggly pointy stairs( ya just know sometimes). As i came to a stop at a red light at the bottom of Chauncey Hill and US231 they pulled up right beside me, i looked over and sure enough im gettin laughed at by some 20 year old punks in a Honda SUV. I just smiled and chuckled myself as i looked at them.... Then it hit me, i looked around for cops and traffic, wasnt anybody behind or in front of us so i looked over at the driver and asked if he wanted to race? He laughed some more...I sat there with a dead serious look on my face waiting for his reply...They kinda slowly quit laughin and he answered yes. I said lets go to the speeedway gas station( a little over 1/8 mile) whoever gets there first wins. His passenger asked if we should take off when the other light turns yellow.?. I thought what a idiot, its bad enough we are street racing then this dude wants to leave early on a green light lol. I said lets take off when our light turns green, we gotta keep it legal lol, they thought that was funny too. So here we are, im all staged up waiting then the other lane gets the yellow, what the hell my heart is starting to pound and im on a scooter lol (a race is a race). We get the green and boom full throttle im gone, i heard his tires chirp a little as he took off. I peeked over my shoulder as i crossed the other side of the intersection and i had him by more than a car length. By then i could here his little 4 banger shrieking the winds away at 6,000+rpm through first going into second (ha, i aint gotta do that buddy), i still had a good lead but he was maintaining his position. As he wound second out and was going for third gear i looked over again and he was almost to my back tire...He planted third gear as we finished, then he passed me. As far as who won, well i had him at the gas station entrance, but the race was technically to the station sign and i think he had me by there, it was very close. It ended up being a good race without any traffic in the way. We stopped side by side at the next light, i told him thanks that was fun. They all said yea that was fun as they were all staring away at my $500 china scooter .

I forgot to mention my belt came in from Autotech. My scoot likes it for sure. My old belt was tight on the pulleys at a stop, and was even about 4mm in on the clutch pulley. That meant to me that i was loosing some low gear and top gear. After i put the new belt on and went for a ride i found this to be true. It is allot smoother through the whole "shift", and i have dropped a few rpm up top. The fastest i have went with the new belt so far is 58 at 10,000rpm. It doesnt seem to be working as hard but that could be because of the new pipe also. This belt is supposed to be 8mm longer than the one i had. Autotech sells em as 90cc jog belts.

Had sum fun this weekend. I also found out that drum brakes fade, then quit on scooters pretty quick. I new this was true but i didnt think 4 laps would get em that hot. We had some fun though for sure. It would be cool to road race scoots around here like they do over seas. Heres a few laps of me on Skeedr.

I used to mess around in parking lots skidding the tire, doing burnouts, and all that stuff. I quit because it wears a scoot out fast. I can't afford all the parts I'd like to have now, so I really can't afford to be replacing parts I've already bought contstantly. I seemed to be especially hard on tires and clutches. Tore myself up a bit taking turns too fast, that's when I discovered helmets lol. Now I run my little bike in the parking lots. I beat the crap outta it and don't really care because I can't drive it on the street anyway so it can sit and wait till I can get parts.
Have fun with it, just don't be upset if you start breaking things when you treat the scoot like that. Thanks for the vid!

I used to get patches and plugs when I had a REALLY bad stretch of luck with tires. As you've seen, I replace them these days. I never had any problems with repaired tires, just heard too many stories to trust 'em 100%.
What tires are you lookin' at?
