ok you rebels you i posted this back on SD a long while back but since i belong here now i will repost it for the rebels to gander at these are just a few things i have done to my lil mule pepe !! enjoy here is the cup holder and twin 12volt outlets for our travel mugs, power inverter, GPS and whatever else i wanna plug in it ;D MP3 speaker relocation and boxes and they sound pretty darn good to I gave pepe teeth so now it is a creature of the night!!sticking its tongue out at the big boys, NOW it has personality and is no longer named pepe its name is The Nyghtflyer My S.P.A.Z Sticker The high mount brake light it looks better at night ! I painted the CVT cover with metalcast red repainted the muffler and trim after the de-restriction floorboards in metalcast red and finally the instrument cluster bezels ! The Nyghtflyer now has over 3080 miles on it and is running flawlessly ,does not run hot even in the hot summer days 2 up on the highway at it has done great. my only complaint is the cheapo tires I couldnt be happier with my cheap chinese scooter (which by the way was not cheap when i got it $ 2700 out the door and i didnt have to do a PDI , but i do when the weather is nasty out , i go over it and check the big stuff (lights, fluids, wheels, tires, steering head, hoses) just to make sure im not getting anything loose or leaking

JR i remember your thread tire change and speaking in tongues ;D one day i will have a job again and be able to get some new tires for the scooter but for now with just my wife working i have to make do with what i have it isnt an overly gross ride with the 2.5 oz of copper bbs in them, it helped a lot! now as far as the paint i used it is made by dupli-color metalcast mc200 i picked it up at autozone and the had a few different colors to choose from, and it is ver close to the color of the scooter. the CVT intake i painted white i think then shot it with the metalcast they say it is heat resistant but not high temp it has held up well on the CVT cover and floor boards. for the intake on the CVT i thought maybe some Kentucky Chrome and still may try it just to give it a little BLING

Thanks JR : the part number on the can was MC200 at least thats what the sticker has, when i say a few colors it was blue ,purple, the red one and something else and then maybe a light gray primer, so my thinking with the white was kinda like the primer. I already had white paint so i figured why not. i looked at it shooting the metal red over black wouldnt have turned out red looking the CVT cover is already dull silver or (a light color ) so shooting the metal red on that would give it that nice anodized look then shoot the intake white or even gray and you should match just like mine did. BACK UP THE BUS i didnt use white i used the camo green paint from wally world ,yes yes flat camo green or gray will give the results you want on the black parts ,but i will 2x check it for ya. im so confused i need some homemade wine

JR i just went into the garage and shot a piece of olive drab with the metal red paint and that was the combo it turned out almost just like the CVT air intake. and i noticed we have the same two scooters my wife has the same one your wife has except hers in lime green (and doesnt run) Darrin

JR: mamas scooter is whole hornets nest of trouble. when i bought it it ran i rode it home from the dealer, on the way every bulb in it burned out put a VOM on it and found it was cranking out 24 volts at the headlights 19 volts at the battery, got a regulator for it no help, put a stator in it problem solved ran great for for about 80 miles then sometimes it would sometimes it wouldnt so i pulled the stator out left it out all winter long and thought i better put this back together so i dont loose anything after i put it back in i hit the button and she fired right up, did that for a few days then back to sometime do sometime dont , so when i get a few extra bucks ill get another stator, cdi and coil and replace it all at the same time. if that doesnt fix it i may just cut my losses part it out and put the money to a new scooter for her. the other problem the B&M dealer cant seem to get a title for me its been over a year and its one excuse after another from them finally got fed up with it and called the Ohio Attorney General to light a fire under their butts. It is one the best running 150s ive been on when it ran it ran great so now even if i get it running again she cant ride it cause i cant get plates for it. we live and learn , i am really leaning towards just parting it out and getting her a brand new one Darrin

well i just broke over the 3500 mile range on the ol 250 and and still have nothing new to report as far as mishaps or problems , just running strong , but i did gps the speedo and it is dead on temp guage still running at the 1/4 mark fan cycles on and off no oil usage very minor leak at exhaust valve cover no valve adjustment done (kicks off right away ) coolant levels good. one thing i did manage to do was soften the ride up some by heating the springs around the shock that made all the difference in the world (my wife even noticed it right away) she said what did you do to your scooter it rides a lot better than before ,now if she noticed it , it had to be a big improvement LOL

I had to try this out for myself as i have mc-13-150 getting parted out here i stole the rear shocks off it (that scooter rode like my old town car) it just floated going down the road now my 250 rides like a buck board so i swapped the shocks from the 150 and placed them on the 250 and OMG what a difference that made the 250 floats along now no more buck boards this old boy they were the same length as my 250 shocks and fit like a glove so if you can get a set of 150 shocks from the touring 150 i would highly recommend it

Put those on the Tracer, and even in the lowest position, and 39lbs of air in the rear tire.....smooth as glass....just floating down the road! Took the front telescopic forks about 1K miles to limber up, and not feel plagued with "sticktion," but now, nearing 3K....this is a great "round town" scoot.

ok guys today was the last straw for these chinese tires. i went to meet my wife at wally world and just as i was turning in the rear tire went flat again for no reason!! I pump the tire it holds air at 32 psi i spray the tire with soapy water and no bubbles anyplace. So after tonight i'm done with them i just ordered the AM63 Viper Stryke tires got the same ones JR did 120/70/13 front 140/60/13 rear $86.98 with FREE DELIVERY from MOTORCYCLE SUPERSTORE www.motorcycle-superstore.com/5/32/404/1/0/0/DEPARTMENT/Scooter-On-Road-Tires-Tires.aspx now i just have to wait til they get here i don't know if i can wait that long i want them now !!! I will document the change for all to see when they get here

dademoss, if you haven't already replaced your valve stems do it when you change the tires. They might even be the source of your leak.

xs650: i did changes the rear valve stem a few weeks back, the old stem came apart on the center stand in the driveway,so i bought 2 new ones from the local motorcycle shop i put the rear in already and now thats the tire that keeps going flat but i can find no leaks any place so today as i wait im going to pull the rear back off and tub it to see if i can find a leak, im going to replace the front during the tire change

Dademoss, the valve stems were a long shot, when you get the leak figured out let us know. That will be one more Chinese wierdity to watch out for.
