Bigger and better picture. I used the downstairs computer to insert this picture. That cover you see on the upper rear fender does nothing more than let you look at the coil and CDI. The access hole is too small to let you reach in and touch it or work on it. For that I have to take off the front panel under the seat and then the right rear fender. Sounds easy, is a pain.

I put a new CDI unit in the scoot last week along with a new fuel filter. It started once the fuel line primed itself and it's been starting fairly well all week. I have to road test it to convince myself it's fixed completely. I actually have a buyer for it but it's not leaving until the end of January. I guess you can buy cheap, fix and resell pretty quick if you want to get into that line of business.

I've done a couple of those and things have turned out well. Neither of them had major problems and I got them on the cheap. I am a bit concerned about being over confident and getting in over what I budget. Getting them at a cheap price is the best medicine for that.

I took it out today between rain storms and it ran just fine. The dreaded misfire and hesitation seem to be gone with the old CDI unit. I stopped and restarted a couple of times, which is when it would buck and threaten to die, with no trouble at all. It ran up to and held 35 mph on the Chinometer with no trouble even into a headwind. I'm satisfied it's ready to be sent on to its new owner for active duty.
