I agree the price on the bbk is not really sane. I've been trying to find specs on bore and stroke (found it 40x39.2), they do have oversized pistons available, I'm just not sure what is reasonable to go to.
I'm also thinking about the brakes and am considering finding a fork and wheel set up for a disk brake.
Also available is a new set of gears (over $200.00), Holeshot Clutch Sping Kit, Boyesen Power Reeds, and as always a unifilter, then a Mikuni VM18 carb, jets. I'm wondering about an exhaust from one of the little ATV's this motor went into. Jemco makes a custom exhaust that you can order but it is a hand built custom and prob pretty expensive.

Not sure how it will be for your ped, but the ATVs that also use the Jog style engines have WAY different exhausts that wouldn't come close to working properly on a scoot.

I am thinking if I can get a good low end on this it might be a good little trail rider. Not an off road but something light I can take into the hills and explore trails on. I stumbled across a place that has a yt 60 piston for $50.00, it is actually a place I've ordered stuff from before, hyper parts. I'm figuring that if the QT and YT have interchangeable cylinders, the qt cylinder should be thick enough to bore out to a 60. www.hyperparts.com/wc.dll?ctwp~getapplctns1~1001~1002~1~0009~000546.

Eh, it ain't no thing.
Grew up watching my mom make clothes. I had to fix my own ripped out pant butts. The wife laughs at me because she can't sew anything. So if you are looking for a machine, that one I got at Walmart for about $80.00 and it does the basic things and has a dozen or so different stitches it does. I never have tried to get it to sew through several layers of vinyl but it did pretty well with the stuff I used for the seat at only two layers thick.

Well, my grab bag of ebay parts came in today. It had a rear fender (I needed), a reed valve (I think I need), motor/trans, front brake assembly with a speedo cable, a carb, center stand, tail light, coil, regulator, etc. the cylinder has some scoring but no bad enough that a mild bore wouldn't fix it, I and I've found some 0.50 over pistons. I'll do this if I don't get it running without tearing into it. I was curious about this head and the areas that seem to have been ground down, do you think somebody did this to lower the compression? Do you see any problem with the reeds?

i would polish it up and give it a shot
