I'm working on some drawings for a permanenty, though the skin, attached exoskeletal enhancement for the back.... he says he's game....but he doubts any hospital in the USA would allow him access to attach something like that! Then he said I was EF'N NUTZ! While laying on the traction table during physical therapy, I asked the physical therapist if there was a portable version that could be worn while walking around. He told me there was a smaller lumbar traction unit that could be used while laying on a bed, but that he didn't know of anything that could worn while moving around. I was thinking of something using harnesses similar to the harnesses on the traction table, but with pneumatic cylinders between them. The lower traction harness sits on the hips, while the upper harness catches under the sides of the ribcage (it can be a bit uncomfortable, but it was an easy trade for temporarily taking away the pain caused by the herniated disc). A forward and rear pneumatic cylinder on either side and a small handpump (maybe a squeezebulb from a blood pressure cuff?) should work in place of the traction table's straps and traction system, but some form of pressure equalizing orifice and connecting hoses may be needed to allow some mobility. I ended up buying an inversion table, and using it a couple of times a day was enough for my normal routine, so I didn't get around to piecing together a prototype. The wearable traction rig would be nice for trips, though.

Without too much moaning and groaning, bitching about this and that, got a little more done on the 50cc BBK tool, and a little here too. Just small stuff, nothing major. But here is where the critcisms are really gonna start hitting hard...."you're FF'ng up, yadayadayada...." Built in memory of a series of movies I always liked. Built to honor the creativity of the vehicle designers for those movies. Vehicles seemingly built out of nothing, but a little bit of everything. Basrardizations of anything ever built with wheels. Function over form. That's how MaddMaxx was conceived, and that's the idea I've built it with. Nothing was out of the question, but tha answer ain't always pretty. Exposed wiring harness, friction tape, electrical tape, conduit cover, diamond plate and wood, plastic, paint, and undercoating. This is, in my mind, where the custom emerges.... because it wasn't designed to copy a molded candy colorred, and plated beauty, representing thousands of dollars... It will be a usable testing tool, full of questions, and hopefully even more answers. Besides....have you ever TRIED to customize something, by screwing it up...it ain't easy....so remember that when you see the CVT intake rock guard, the exposed wiring, the diamond plate quarter panels, the "spark plug" condensate drain plug... Hopefully, it'll be finished, my back will be tuned up, and maybe around October or so, I can make a Fall Colors Rally somewhere near the Mason Dixon Line this year. Sure wanted to do Indy this year, but it just wasn't in the cards...

Kliff, I really do not have any idea what you are talking about, I see no bastardizations here, I see a machine with a purpose, a machine that had intelligent design and function. Each detail is thought out and executed. Exposed wires are not a bad thing, pretty plastic is just for looks.

kliff, I see a stout, easy to access & work on machine with more life span now than any factory will ever make!! I realy like the things you , j.r. and others do here.Projects that you don't have to float a loan to got better performance and repairs made simple. j.r. , your so right about 150 Bali, remove pannels just check and adjust .Of 3 Bali's in this family mine has never ran more than 5 min. in almost a year.Like the body lines, serviceability sucks.Do I think it's lemon? No!Most likely my fault, sshould have did PDI rode it then custom paint.Didn't paint,PDI & now nuttin.lol!! Sorry, got off subject! Anyway don't any one stop or change! Worth.

Making things easier to get to, means that they'll be looked at more often in preventative maintenance. And if there is a problem, it could be a simple fix, instead of spending the majority of your time just getting access to the problem and closing it back up.

Just on hold for a while....re-arranging the shop, fabbing a case boring fixture for QMB engines. I'll be back to it soon, I hope to have it off the rack before surgery, but if not, it'll be done soon enough.
