kliff, I think you know what i do for a living, just in case you do not. I'm a physician assistant, I treat patients for my livelihood. And i think most people are pretty much not tolerant of pain at all because I get people asking for narcotics all the time for things very minor. You my friend are friggin nuts for trying to do the SCBR with that kind of back trouble. You should consider not doing it, that is if you value being able to walk..

OMG, can you image Phaze on all that stuff, good thing he doesn't live in California since it looks like the state here want to legalize everything so they can tax it. They want to smoke their way out of debt.

It's just a Refrigeration Mechanics Pocket thermo Jeremy. The PT sold through refrigeration supply houses are usually a little more , "heavy duty" than a chef's PT,definitely more pricey at 21.00, but either would work. Then I cut off the fish tail of the original DS, chuck the DS head in the lathe, and center drill it from top to bottom. put a couple of cross channel holes in for good epoxy bond.
Then press, and I mean PRESS that mofo into the hole I just drill add some poxy, and let it set. Install it right after a "measured" oil changed, mark your stick where the actual full mark is, and again about 3/8" below that( about 6ozs low), and your done.
Been thinking abot making some and selling them to Rebels members, but after buying the PT, new dipstick, USPS fixed shipping, I'd probably need to charge up around 45.00 to make 5 bux. Maybe if I get some analog PT's I could shave that price some....but I still doubt anyone would wanna spend 35.00+ on a dip stick....
That's why, for stuff like this, I just lay all the details out for you guys. Most of y'all are as cheap as me, and if you can do it ourself to save a buck....well I been there.... go for it!
