Hey Rebs & Rebettes,
Glad to see this trike section! Here in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area I'm seeing more and more trikes, both scooters AND full-size cycles. There are a number of the large motorcycle trikes with the single chain-drive cycle rear wheel and auto-style 2-wheel front end.
I inspected close-up a new Sunl 150 trike at Wally World a month ago. It had the best finish, paint, lights and general appearance of any Chinese scooter I've seen. Two brothers were riding it, and they always ride together. They say it will maintain over 50 mph two-up with no problem, and were very happy with it.
I think trikes will open up the world of "wind-in-your-face" travel for a lot of folks who wouldn't be interested in 2-wheelers. Also, since they take up an "honest" segment of a traffic lane, they are forcing cagers to recognize scooters as "real vehicles". That's good for all of us.
No matter how many wheels these little wheezers have, they're all fun!
Ride safe...
Leo in Texas

Anyone know about these Suntrikes? I have met a guy who was one of the engineers for the prototype and he happens to have an original in his back yard. are these worth buying? www.suntrike.com/gallery.htm

If I had the ca$h, I'd already have one. If you can make a deal, and have some mechanical aptitude....why not?

Ross,
Welcome to the forum.
I've read some about those Suntrikes, the only problem they had for me was that they are really just usable as an around town transportation, seems the top speed was in the 40 mph range for the 150cc version. Now if they came out with a 600 cc that might be interesting.

I spoke with the guy about modifying the rear end to mount a 250cc that should bring the speed up to at least 60mph. 600cc can't be done without re-making rear end and due to the speed you would have to make front wider.

So are you going to get one, and is the seller going to install a 250cc for you?

Now that I am an authorized dealer for Ice Bear, I am trying my hand at building a website. Take a look and let me know what you think, since it is a free site I have to hand code everything and it is a pain in the ass. All comments are welcome.

Jim, I'd shrink the picture down, it would make it look better focused and be more friendly to people with small screens. Shall we make a new thread for this?
