I have had a few British cars with CD Strombergs on them and cars with SU carbs and the would say to put special springs and the wife didnt approve On those carbs you can screw the jet up and down while the engine was running to adjust the mixture There was a damper on the slide that you about 10ccs of SAE20 oil to stop the slide bobbing up and down all old technology Reb

I had a '67 Sunbeam Alpine with some dual carbs on it. It was a nice little car, wish I still had it.

with my scoot i have a tendancy to set the idle too low [no tach anyway] and when the idle is too low it hesitates off the line
