shoot that should work as long as you ahve the lift linkage on your tractor just need to make the hitch bracket and it should hook up real easy
i know a guy that runs a simplicty shop out here ill see if i can get by there tomorrow and see if he has one of those brackets to either measure up or see what he wants for it

you never know what joe has he has 3 buildings full of older lawn tractros for sale and for parts
and you never know what can be pulled out of his head for fixing things in ways that can save you a ton of money
things like better starters from other makes and modles or spindle bearings for cheaper brands that work just as well and cen be retrofited

I appreciate the leg work. If he has a web page I'll be happy to go there and shop. FYI the tiller turns out to be not THE one that was made for my tractor, it is a #1690194. One of the guys on the tractor forum says the 6000 series equipment does not all work on a 6100 series tractor. Looking at the hitch I think even if a factory hitch is found it will need a new mounting tab welded on for this tillers hardware. this is on the other side on the correct tiller.

I've been looking at some of the manuals I have downloaded and am thinking we may have been wrong about the hitch design. If you can talk to your guy and get an input it might avoid some problems. this might be what it mounts to.

I picked up a piece of 4 inch square tubing, it should make a good draw bar bracket. I've been trying to get the power pulley off of the rear end, I need to take it to the local parts place and see if I can get it matched up with one that has a power take off pulley on it. It looked like it was held on by two set screws and I got them off and the pulley came most of the way off the shaft but does not want to come a last fraction of an inch. I there something else that holds these on? Should I just try and muscle it off?

I was kind of hoping that I could put the pulley off with the rear end still in the mower but it looks like I have to drop it out, the good thing with doing that though is it will make it easier to create the draw bar I think.
