Kinda looks sorta like the entire triking movement amongst scooteristas, is following "Alleyoop."
As far as I'm concerned, that's a shame, mainly because Alley has such low regard for Doug, the SR, and myself. I was so hoping a more level headed individual, like DavidSr, would be their "go to." BBut..... don't look that way.
So, after the last few days, at the dawg pound, and Alley's continued attacks, it looks like the Triking community has gone underground, and or folowed Alley to Rich's place. No problem, but I'd still hate to see the triking movement end here. So for craps and giggles, wiyhin the next couple of months, look for me to be picking on up, and doing what I do. Mod, improve, and customize.
I'm sure some of it will be called "copy catted," but then again, there are just so many ways, you can fix repitious problems. Other stuff, may be labelled as boastful, and egotistical...probably right again. cause if I got the tools, and I identify a problem, or just wanna change or make, I will, because I can.
Just wanted to affirm, to any concerned, I'm not gonna willfully let this section die. But if you wanna keep my ego in check....bettter get one of these little buggers and join on in. Hell we may even create a new class for the NASRA.... Trikes, 200cc and smaller! LMAO! ;D

That's the way I see it RD. We're gonna do it our way.... besides look how big a cooler a trike can haul, heck it can pull a small aluminum trailer with your drag scoot on back... after we "sweetin' the package" a tad that is...LOL!

I'm thinking, hoping, he voiced opinions that were NOT the feelings or thoughts of the other trikers. Maybe they're being quiet, with an infounded fear of retaliation, for Alley's comments, or they back him 100% and don't post for whatever reason..
No matter, triking will grow. II gave it a perfect opportunity to grow OVER THEIR tis afternoon, just so we can see which way the wind blows. As far as I'm concerned, they all, including Alley are welcome here, just gotta play by the rules of engagement....LLOL
(Doug) Nope Alley never joined here. DavidSR was front man over here. Real level headed guy, a pleasure to talk or banter with, hope he'll be back! Alley holds something against me from who knows when, he won't post a link to me, nor the general public. So I don't know, I may need to apologize, I may not. I'm not searching through thousands of posts, without even a keyword to know what I'm searching for. So he must have his feathers ruffled over something real petty, something anyone else would just blow off. BBut after the other night.....I ain't sure I owe him anything, maybe he levelled the playing feild, or even startind excavations on his side....
MMy point is, we want tho see triking live, here, there, almost annywhere.

I had sent a message a few days ago to Rebel asking about if it was okay to post like I did at SD concerning trikes. Then I see this post, I will do what I can to help keep it alive.

We will be converting a Burgman 650 into a trike in 2 weeks so I will try my best to do pictures and a little write up.

Kliff, don't worry about things over there, as far as who is mad at who? I'm fairly sure I am actually the one people are mad at, but whoever is, people will either get over it or they won't and we will just keep on going no matter what.

I don't have a trike, but I certainly do like them!
I examined a Roketa trike last season that was a thing of beauty indeed! It used a live axle with sprocket and chain drive, off a short-case CVT as a sort of jack-shaft, with a central-mounted disk brake on the axle. All this most likely comes directly from an ATV/kart.
That setup seems like a natural when making your own trike. The live axle, with both rear wheels locked (no differential) doesn't seem to be a problem with these lightweight trikes. The outboard tire just skids a little in extremely tight turns.
Looks to me like you could build a trike rear end for many different styles of scooters, using go-kart components! Rather than elaborate factory-style sheetmetal or plastic at the back, a nice keg-style fuel tank would look great. I'd love to have 2 or more gallons of fuel on board too... Lots of room for potential creativitiy here...
Hope this trike section grows and does well!

I got luckey and was able to cancel one I had on order, before it shipped, and sold the other I'd bought, with nothing more than a PDI in time and minimal materials lost...broke even. We don't need no stinkin' outta da box trikes! If and when I consider them as an option again, I'll probably use MaddMaxx as a platform, and build my own. I'll leave that store bought stuff to the little prissies, afraid to get their scoot wet, then paying someone to clean it... idiots, that knows all and can do all....LMAOROTFF! How does Rotax 440, twin cylinder 2 smoke with torque converter drive, and a reverse box sound? 40HP stock, 2 smoker power...... hmmmm???

Here ya go Leo ! One reverse box on a GY6 short case... From there on out, some simple mods to a Ford 8" differential( used 'em many times when swapping Sportys, et al, into trike useage, if a Servi-car rear wasn't available) some steel, little welding, LOTS of measureing.....bamm, boom...another Trike...scooter sized. oooops, this one is going in dad's mini dozer though...LOL, that's a whole 'nother thread in a different section, though....

Well, never having seen this before, I have little to no idea how it works. I have seen people use an electric motor to kick in and drive a gear or chain to go backwards with.
