I have an Italjet Dragster 50LC that refuses to run. I thought maybe it was the carb, so I cleaned it twice making sure all the passages were clean and everything was flowing like it should. I can get it to run if I spray fuel in the carb, or use starting fluid, but it only runs until it runs out of fuel. The fuel line is clear, and it fills the float bowl. Obviously I'm missing something. I do have spark, fuel and air. Any help appreciated. I think it's something I'm overlooking.

well im just wondering about the float or neddle seat or maybe you have a massive air leak some where and the extra fuel will let it run
if you put a new dry plug in and try and start it withoue any stating fluid or fuel does the plug get wet or is the plug dry

I will change the plug out, but it's a bit on the cold side right now, and the scooter is in an unheated garage. I'll give that a try as soon as it warms up some. Thanks for your help.

I was wondering about a vacuum leak.

Could be a vacuum leak. It has a vacuum operated fuel valve. All it takes is a little hole in the line, and no gas.

The leak I was thinking about would be more like a leak around the carb, but the fuel valve is a possibility.

check the fuel pump on the gas tank see if the fuel is coming out of the tank

I bet you have bad gas like it has some water in it . I just drained my tank with a siphon pump and drained the carb bowl . I put it back together and put in some Shell 93 and it has been running since 8 this morning .
My scooter has done this twice and now I only get gas a few trusted places .
It had and still runs perfect and I was baffled as it ran sweet and the next day no start as it never has had any issues . I called my scooter dealer for the first time it happened . He told me they were baffled why another scooter would not start and after they drained the gas in the tank and bowl , refilled it started . He told me if it will start for a second or two with starting spray and shut off that mine may have bad gas as well . He was right .
I went to Harbor Freight and bought a siphon pump instead of unhooking fuel lines and drip gas everywhere . The pump has two hoses and in and a out which makes it easy . Make sure the hose is in the pump tight before you get started . The 2 drain the hose came out and I had some spillage .
So I would try this on your scooter as well if it has been running good prior and may only be bad gas not letting it start up

Never ever use starting fluid on a 2 stroke. The stuff cleans the oil off the cylinder walls, piston and rings, causing metal to metal contact and irreparable damage. It also does not burn but explodes and if it explodes in the crankcase it will take out your reeds. Then you will not run for sure.
You should regularly use Seafoam in your gas take and any gas you keep in cans around the house.

Yes using starting fluid with ether which is a solvent can damage parts over time but ok for just a test .
I had water in the gas again . I almost had a meltdown since it was only 3 weeks I did earlier . Drain the tank and bowl on the carb and refill with premium from a trusted gas station . It was milky in the bowl . Luckily I can acces my carb without having to remove any panel . What sux is the drainplug is inwards instead of exposed . I loosened the manifold and airbox in order to turn it instead of remove . Turn the screw and gas will flow out of the tube on the bottom . When it stops trickling , remove the screw and more will come out of the hole . Replace the screw , turn it and tighten the manifold and airbox . What really sux is I wanted to flip the bowl 180 degrees but its not made to where it can be done grrrrrr

If you are going to use primer, always use a premix of 32 to 1 of gas and oil. Oh and ether explodes, it does not burn. If it explodes in the crankcase, and it can, I've seen it happen, it will blow your reeds out.

Interesting I never heard of ether doing that to a 2T . I have seen a diesel flame up with starting spray

Certified 2 stroke mechanic for 4 different manufacturers and all say no ether ever.
