I am going to attempt to make an official Scooter Rebel definition of a scooter.
I really want to be inclusive because I know that what some people consider a scooter I may not and vice versa. Like really I do not consider a 16 inch wheeled cycle a scooter, just isn't in my opinion. I am willing to expand my definition though and make it inclusive.
first, I am setting up some criteria and if a cycle meets enough of those criteria, it is a scooter.
1. small tires and wheels (at least one of them 13 inch or under)
2. step through, a step through must have a floor board, unless modified by its owner.
3. heritage, if it is made by a scooter company past and present.
4. custom build scooters.
5. street legal in most states.
Any three of the above.
And, must have a seat for the rider can not have pedals.
So if you have on of those new 16 inch wheeled scooter like bikes, you are in here because you have three of the above. Also a Cushman Eagle or Mustang Scooter will be included. I reserve the right to add to the above criteria as information or ideas come to me.

Well, there is no question on the topic here, just a definition of what I consider a scooter, and therefore, what one is on this forum. It becomes a big question often what is a scooter and what is a motorcycle. here are web source definitions of a motorcycle; www.answers.com/topic/motorcyclen. A two-wheeled motor vehicle resembling a heavy bicycle, sometimes having two saddles and a sidecar with a third wheel. www.thefreedictionary.com/motorcyclemo·tor·cy·cle (mtr-skl) n. A two-wheeled motor vehicle resembling a heavy bicycle, sometimes having two saddles and a sidecar with a third wheel. www.whybike.com/motorcycle108.htmA "motorcycle" is any motor vehicle having a seat or saddle for the use of the rider, designed to travel on not more than three wheels in contact with the ground, and weighing less than 1,500 pounds. www.yourdictionary.com/motorcyclenoun a two-wheeled (or, if equipped with a sidecar, three-wheeled) vehicle propelled by an internal-combustion engine and resembling a bicycle, but usually larger and heavier, and often having two saddles. So if you have something that resembles a "heavy bicycle" you may not have a scooter.
