But we're gonna be mixing KLR650 + Bali + Ruckus + some serious frame fabrication..... At 0830, this was a complete, ready to ride KLR650..... now, with a couple of scooter wheels set on a 52" wheelbase beside it, you can see the mass of that big single cylinder engine. Taking what Jeremy said, to heart. I've got a tittle Bali Frame, that is bent all to Hell and back. But if I cut the neck out, get a straight set of trees and forks, then just build the frame I need, to adjoin part of the KLR frame. Fab up a Ruckster replica rear section/seat, latch on to, or fabricate a battery box, electrical cover, similar to a Ruckster, loose the stock shock and linkage, lower the whole shebange, add shocks/mounts to the rear of the swing arm, and leave that big ole single filling in the step through of the frame... I still don't know what to call it......LOL! Only reason I'm this deep into it already, is I'm parting out the KLR for stuff I won't be needing.... so I just went ahead and pulled everything I won't need.....

Got the front box, both halves orderred from a guy on TotalRuckus, still looking for an OEM seat frame for a ruckus, so I guess that'll qualify it as a Ruckus, and maybe those guys will lemme show it off over there too, when it's done.
Without widenning the swingarm, I'll be able to squeeze a 6.5" eide wheel/tire combo in on back. But there are ways around that too, if I want wider. But I'm thinking more 140-150/70-12 for a rear. Still haven't heard back from my wheel lacer....I think I finally stumped him. So I guess I'm on my own for a rear hub, whell, disc carrier, sprocket carrier.... Looks like many an hour this winter hung over the lathe....
250 Bali front end on the way, with the BIG disc brake, Bali neck on hand.
DOM steel tubing on the way in.
More KLR parts going out today!
Back on the 50cc racer next week.
Nobady wants the engine outta Maxx? How about the whole scoot? Needs the wiring finish to put it on the street....$950.00

Had a pretty bad week, my back, Dad's health, MORE crap on the net, getting a KLR ready for a trip to Texas, and shipping a fair amount of KLR parts.... Thanks for the advice Jeremy, but on MY time, in MY garage, I work on what I want, when I want, if I want, as you can see, I keep a full schedule, and I pick and choose it all, and alot my time thusly. So on the in between times, this week, instead of phartin' around with the net...like I said, that started off wrong the first of the week! I started on the rear wheel hub of the klrscoot. I can't afford a custom, one off, 1000.00 hub. So I deceded to do a custon, one off, home made hub, with about 200.00 in out-sourced machine welding... Besides, as pretty as some of those custom hubs are, I ain't seen one yet with a cush drive, to protect chain and tranny. My modified Kawasaki hub, will retain the cush drive. Starting on the cush drive side, gotta remove the spoke boss ring, and take it down to 5.0"'s...

Forgot to mention.... ITP 10x5 wheel coming, along with a Michelon Bopper 130/90-10 tire whicjk should have an assembled height of about 19.5" + Loosing the 45T rear sprocket, going to a 36T, and the front will probably grow to a 16T front a 15T. Even with these gearing changes, it may not get over 90mph..... but should be a wheely poppin', tire smokin' little devil. Definitely not for everyone....throttle control chillen, throttle control. Mo' pics...

Alrighty then.... 'scuses first. 'puter was down, doing a head for a freind, more port angularity maching R&D, and some progress on the scoot with no name, prepping a KLR for sale and delivery.... LOTS of rear hub machining....reducing the OEM almost to a spool, just about ready to have some billet pieces fitted up, I've also been turning..... then we'll seek outside assistance with the TIG welding, then back to the lathe, re-truing, the wheel flange location determination, back out for more welding, then back for truing again..... probably gonna be about 40-50 hours on my end, and whatever the machine shop hold me to on the welding. But for now, some hub pics... And I finally got around to putting it up on a lift... Damn, that was a purty frame... But once you start cutting stuff up, and out, to replace with cleaner looking, local specific parts, all that initial frustration, just sorta fades away...

OK, I see some serious work done there. Now if I could just figure out exactly what you are up to, especially with that wheel, you have to get some kind of center built up to attach the hub to at least that is the way I see it.
