I've not heard that any one specific variator is heads and shoulders above the others, but that teflon coated one seems to me like it might have an advantage for getting to the top speed the fastest and I wonder if it cuts down on slider wear too. If you are just looking for top end, I think they all have the potential.

I have the prodigy for $65 that autotech355 sells. have only the stock one to compare to. stock a few times I was up to 9k rpm. now it is a real steap hill that will get the rpms up to 7k. acceleration is real quick, 12g weights top speed probably around 60 on flat, after a good down hill run I can usually maintain 55-60. I would buy another. one thing on ebay autotech does not give feed back and that kind of irks me. After I have paid for an item I expect to get feedback and will not give feedback for a purchase if I dont get it first. (unless it is negative) john

Just to chime in...
I've used the Rotella 15W-40 Diesel oil also, for more than three years, and 3,000 miles now in my Xingyue 150. I change it every 1,000 (every year... HANDY... LOL!) and the scoot never uses any oil. The old oil always comes out looking almost golden-new. No metal particles in the screen, and the engine always has that hard-to-describe "cushioned" feel even in very hot weather.
I think the heavy-duty Diesel oil is pretty good in these air-cooled engines.
That's good enough for me!
Ride safe...

I remember my diesel pick up making the oil look like it had been already used for a few thousand miles after running it for just minutes. Has to be good stuff.

Has anyone drilled out or modified a stock Lance Milan/Fly La Vie exhaust? I have access to a welder and could drill out a hole on the back of it and weld in a new larger diameter tube. The tube out the back is off center so it adds frustration to the options. That's a good idea GTBike. Weld a 1"-1 1/2" dia piece of pipe on there. It'll work. Be warned. China steel welds weird. RD

The DR. is machined a little better but it doesn't work any better. On the subject of their sliders, however. Get theirs, not the off brand. They hold up much better and are closer to the stated weight. RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRD
