The guy called it a Schwinn but the title says, "Home-Made" Newton 150. I like it because it's got some power for city driving and not getting run over and I can touch both feet flatly on the ground when I stop.
It's 2009 with no miles on it.

Ok it is a 150cc gy6 based scooter then. Ask if the fluids have all been changed. Make sure all the bolt are secure and all electrical connections tight.
Chinese scooters had emproved a lot by 2009 and it might have te upgraded hoses, belts and valve stems but being sure they are fresh and good quality is wise.

Ok, I believe the 12 month warranty is still valid since they never actually sold it before I bought it.

I have been on the Chinese scooter forums since 2006, very few of the dealers are really standing behind the scooters because the factories have not for the most part backed up the product. Schwinn is no acception. They are not the bicycle company I grew up knowing, those guys went out of business 20 years ago and the name was bought to sell cheap import bikes from asia.
I am not saying you have a bad scooter but it needs to be given every chance to be dependable by a good prep on it. Hate to see you have grief over it.
Like I said been on the forums since 2006 and read a lot of disappointed scooter owners talking about things that broke because a good dealer prep was not done.

I'll keep that in mind I will likely change the fluids myself since it is air cooled with a fan I won't be changing any coolant. I think I can handle changing the oil.

Hard to warranty an item from a company that died in 2011
Your only support will be what ever the dealer feels generous enough to give

Good news is that the scooter should be easy to find any parts it may need and performance parts are cheap if you want them.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks for all the advice... They haven't gotten my windshield yet and since it's snowing for the next week, there's no real rush anyway...lol

I can vouch on the warranty not holding part at least back in 08-09 I used to build custom 50 cc choppers (kindof like west coast look alikes street legal) buying them motors and such the whole reason I stopped it the manufacturer made life hell in the long run. Qc was not the greatest and warranty was words on paper but no action

Thanks. I know the warranty is no good. I know I bought a nearly 7 year old scooter but it's what I could afford and more importantly what I feel more comfortable on since the mini chopper went bad.
