What are members suggestions on motoroil. (I have no manual) What type and weight. heard if going with synthetic to use 15w40. I think 10w40 is normal???
I live in FL so its hot all the time pretty much so no cold starting lol.
Gear oil I was thinking scoogear but either way I don't know what weight to use. I think it only comes in 75w90??
Where can a get a TRUE PDF download of the manual. I found a few online through google BUT it leaves stuff out like the entire fuel system section and others. I found this site... www.manualslib.com/manual/805092/Sym-Mio-50.html?page=4#manual
^^but it will not let me print anything without the pages being messed up EVEN in print preview. When I download the manual it STILL keeps out a lot of things. My computer is upgraded and all that Im just not understanding. If I try and save a page to a desk top it saves it not as it appears and columns it to the left side of the page and instead of one page it turns it into several. Cant even get it to print as selected.

When you start asking about oil it just nearly like asking about religion. People just have their favorites and are convinced it is the only one to use. Either weight you mentioned should be fine, I suggest using a brand name and changing often. Same with the gear oil.

With my honda elite 150 I've been running 10w30 in both the engine and the trans Even the newer yamaha are specing the same oil for the engine and trans
And yes with any air cooled engine changing often is the key your oil will start to break down before it gets dirty unlike a larger capacity liquid cooled engine

When you start asking about oil it just nearly like asking about religion ------------------------------- I should have figured. I belong to a car forum and it is a very colorful debate
---------------------------------------------------- With my honda elite 150 I've been running 10w30 in both the engine and the trans Even the newer yamaha are specing the same oil for the engine and trans ---------------------------------------------------- very interesting. Not that I doubt your method but why is the weight different and how often with your method would the trans oil need to be changed
--------------------------------------------- did you see this manual? ---------------------------------------- yes I have and its missing the same areas I indicated. lubrication section too is not complete. The pages are there and numbered BUT its simply blank/nothing on the page. When I printed out my manual weeks ago and saw those same blank pages I thought it was just an area for keeping notes on each section so I didn't print them. The link I shared above taught me otherwise.

I change my oil every 1000 to 1500 miles but my elite is also liquid cooled plus I'm in a cooler climate in central wiscinsin
I ran equipment that ran an air cooled deutz turbo dsl so I feel my oil when I check and have gotten pretty at the feel of oil that is starting to brake down

Manual says to use Sym Hypoid gear oil. SAE 85W-140 Is it still suggested to run something different? I would not know an equivalent
