Ook lol I'm only hitting about 200 Degrees I believe I'm a little rich....I found some dirtbike boyesen reeds I had sitting around with about the same tension and they fit perfect I added them sealed around the reeds(reeds btw are from a kx80 two piece power reeds) and intake using motoseal cleaned the stator and pickup coil of rust cleaned out the carb put a brand new plug in cleaned some connectors and removed the oil tank and pump gear I also removed the starter clutch -less rotational mass on drive side due to the bearing being damaged and the starter motor being locked up seemed like the clutch kept engaging anyways did all that and added 93 octane 50:1 premix took a bit to start had no battery in the bike since the day I got it but all the sudden it needed a 12v drill batt at least hooked up to get it to start ran it a little after warming it up down a hill at like 1/8 a mile I turned around and started back mind you trip was at wot for a bit got a short distance power waned off and on for a little I let off the throttle for a second and it started running a bit better again.....I believe already as I was working on it warming up it's a carb mix issue but hitting only 200 deg f doesn't seem like a lean issue I'll check the plug I can't think how being rich would cause it to get sluggish a second during a ride like that oh and I removed the fuel valve and made it straight flow the vaccine line was killing me constantly stopping at a random moment and not stopping when the bike was off didn't seem to be working lol

But so Far best mix I've found with it is for the stock 40 mm bore and 18mm carb (many I've heard are only 17mm) is the 88-90 jet main 19.5 pilot 6g weights boyesen 1991 kx80 power reeds (use the top reeds fit almost exact have to shave the screw holes with a razor sounds like a dirtbike and more take off with em) on extra hole put in the rear of the exhaust pipe to open it a lil I did about 6mm, no restrictors stock airbox(don't fall for cold air bs on a two stroke they need backpressure to keep from wasting fuel) with a more easier flow filter, Briggs and Stratton fuel filter, 93 octane 40:1 sorry I tried 50:1 did not like it ran like low on oil and soft seized these are the same motor setups as dirtbikes except the trans I would NEVER RUN 50:1 it was a common thing to hear of someone destroying a motor based on oil companies claims. I always run 32:1 or 40:1 I've rebuilt too many 50:1 mishaps in my shop. And I removed the oil pump gear and tank. Hitting 40 mph atm could go even more mind you still stock 40mm bore

Found my speed issue my brother in law took his peace sports 50 out with use tonight and when his Speedo which has been calibrated said 35mph mine said 20-25mph. And yes mph lol we made sure not kmh as he almost did . Mine never reads 0-10 or 15 and is irregular on speed reading lately even at a constant speed. And lately has been stubbornly showing a max of 30-35 was 40 even when already hitting it before going down hill. Any who mind you it was sitting years without use before I got it and the gauge cover clear plastic was cracked and has been gone now for weeks. Anyways lol after the speed check we rode about 30 miles at a good pace almost non stop with me my wife a crate full of things from her mothers my work gear in a backpack two 2" wide 3ft long steel pipes seat box full of tools and ratchet straps he insisted I take with two cans of soda in my dash bag(mounted under the handlebars for keys ect....every bit of weight counts lol) not one issue climbed hills well everything and as said stock bore lol dang this things good but dear God I don't wanna do that again was heavy as heck to balance before she even got on and it May have not strained or bogged down unless as normal on hills ect and this is also mind you at lower speed being heavy but I don't like pushing it to far to the point of risking it. I was expecting it being lighter when I got her to go home being minus my lunch and stuff but dang it if she found more lol.

ok, now don't laugh and do take this seriously
Go down to WalMart and get a bicycle speedometer for your scooter, they are actually very tunable and can be set up to work well on a scooter.

Was having issues with my rubber boot to go to my airbox read up on the peppermint oil ideas I do not doubt them but didn't have time. I hit it with high heat after putting water on it(no burns) put a small piston inside the opening froze it heated it again repeat a few times got a bigger piston to the right diam I needed repeated process. It made the rubber soft enough to force it out freezing it while still warm basically gave the rubber a memory per say cooling it quick in that shape still been hours now still holding shape not extremely soft but workable and locked in the airbox perfect.stretched just where I need it
