Hi yall from nc. I have a lil bit of history and decent knowledge on small engines and motorcycles not everything im always open to learn as much as i can... anyways.....lol Does anyone have a few specs on these scoots? Such as carb float height how the heck did you get the air intake boot to stay on the airbox (mine may just be worn out) and what has anyone had luck with as far as upgrades? Ive put a brand new 80 main jet and have access in my shop to jets from around 70is and 90ish (cant read numbers through walls...damn) i opened the muffler a tiny bit removed the green wire rev limiter and changed the mix to suit i can hit about 35 on its speedo my wife reported it was actually like 32. Looking more for 40 if i could

Yeah if it is the 2 stroke version, 50 should not be hard to hit. I am not the 2 stroke expert, jmkjr knows them real well hopefully he will stop by.
I think what you have there is a minerelli motor.

Yep its a hm 2 stroke engine. I'm not sure what the float height should be on them I have seen them with a couple different 17 mm carbs. Take the pipe off and look for a washer or cone welded into the header pipe or in the exhaust gasket Also take the varatior apart and look for a wedding band and make sure your belt is going all the way up the varatior

If you are not familiar with the term wedding band. In the variator, to keep the top end down they will put a thick washer between the variator halves so the belt will not go all the way to the outer variator end and that keeps the top speed down.

Well, I'd not recommend removing one variator weight, it would have a lot of wobble. If you want it to rev higher, change the weights out for lighter ones. These motors make power by reving high.
Between the front half and back half of the variator pulleys, on the shafts the spacer/wedding band keeps the two half from touching.

Alas they didn't use a restrictor washer in the exhaust its filled in in a half moon shape I have to port a little if I want to make any improvement. My jet atm stock or at least as it ran and I received was 80 I have a ton of jets stocked up.....if I ever can find where they and my lost socks went...where oh where did 20+ jets go?

That glob is common in Stock 50 cc cyl. There is some to gain but you also have to raise the port exhaust port inside by 1mm with the work to do that you are better off buying a big bore kit or an after market high performance 50 kit
Jetting I'm not sure as I've only seen the 17 mm carbs in those some fresh new bpr7hs and plug chops looking at the smoke ring
Varatior tuning you must keep it balanced if you go too light it will spike too fast and loose speed. Too heavy and revs will climb and dive and loose bottom end

Tired a heck a bit over worked but I believe I have the jetting down right atm as I found my jet kits lol as per the cvt for now most is going stock I have two Suzy cvt atvs I've modded the driver and driven pulley engagement on and it worked a bit better but I'm more just going to leave it stock for now get some new pads springs and rollers on a later date as I'm just that tired of work lol. The exhaust however I port cylinders a bit easier than I part with that kindof cash I'm not really looking for 70-80ccs just yet but I understand. I have a funny way of wording junk I appreciate the input I'm more or less looking to see how these motors tolerate certain changes
