I, as at least some of you know, started this forum because I had a concern about the long term health of the place most of us came over here from (SD). Today over there I had a PM from a member because he has some links to that sites parent page for some down loadable manuals, that stopped working. If you go to that page now you will find that almost all the links to other pages he has for things like articles and downloads are now going to a error page. Seems he has let his main page go to the point it is now falling apart. Now that forum may indeed go on forever, but it might also become an ugly place to go. As a member that joined it within weeks of it starting, I say that is just too bad, it is sad to see a good thing be allowed to go downhill when several of us tried to get enough control to keep it going.
I'll make this promise, should I ever lose interest in this forum, I will pass control on to another member to become the admin.

I noticed that the other day also Rebel as I was going to go to one of those places to let someone know how to do something and like you said error!! I don't think we'll ever had to worry about you losing interest in scooters or this forum!! You're too much of a stand up guy for that and that's why I personally love being here with fellow rebels and more to soon join!! JR

That being said, we need to get on the stick and be prepared for an influx of regulars from SD and noobs... Just try to be polite and play well together....remember...I NEED positive examples! Otherwise sometimes I go on "melt down" mode....so help me out guys.....don't be messin' wit my aura.

It is sad to see the SD site slowly falling apart but at the same time I am very happy and appreciative that Rebel has started this site. Like the others have said, I don't think Rebel will allow this site to fail and detoriate. I see this site growing huge and becoming the best!

I've been a member of SD for a little over three years and I think it's been 'slipping' for close to a year now.

The pages are all still there. The main page on SD was modified on May 27th. Someone removed the .html extensions in the links to the non-functioning pages.

Harry, you must know more about this stuff than I do then. Thats not too much. So this could actually mean that something good is happening over there then. Maybe Lee gave Aaron the keys to the car and he is going to run it.

Maybe Lee gave Aaron the keys to the car and he is going to run it. If that is the case, then that is swell! Personally, I like the atmospere over here, and as long as I can, I intend to be an active participant. I'll throw down over there too, but as we grow here, it will be more and more sporadic. No lacey doylies year.....just gears wrenches , and busted knuckles....

Maybe Lee gave Aaron the keys to the car and he is going to run it. The pages that were 'disabled'...I must say in a less then elegant way...all had links to the 'scootdawg' manual. My day job is 'puters...so I have all the tools to 'view source' on a web page. IMHO they were disabled to end phones calls to the registered administrators phone regarding inability to order the manual.

Well sd where i came from. Moved here when the environment went down hill. Guess my new pet peeve from sd is no one ever uses the search function and read possible solution to their problems. You end up reading the same problems week to week. Or you give a possible answer and people bash others solutions. Well just a few reason i branched out but i still do try and help sd out when i can.

yes that does get very annoying it also seems to happen a lot on the big boards zf has gotten the same way then when you point them to the search feature they whine and cry that you didnt just give them the answer or they will ask the same question about 10 times because they dont like the answer given

Ya, the never use the search feature gets annoying and was wearing thin on me over there. I must admit that SD is so large, looking is overwhelming. But then it also has a very extensive information data base set up that should make it pretty easy to find something too try to help yourself with.
I must admit that I'd read some request for information and have to retain control to keep from exploding, because I knew that the answer was easily found in one of many resources posted there.

I have to admit, I've had lousy luck with the search over there lately. Trying to find older posts about something that I know exists and yet nothing comes up in a search.
