I would like to add an extra light or two. How is that done ? Do I just slice into the wire of another light or connect to the battery or what ? Where do I connect the wires to the new lights I want to buy ?

First issue is going to be what kind of lights and how much draw is it going to have
Most of the scooters don't make any extra dc juice so when you are sitting stoped with the brakes on you are actually drawing off the battery
If your headlights are ac (meaning they only come on when the scooter is running) you might be able to get away with splicing In to the headlights but his want work and some led won't work

The headlights are ac. The lights I intend to add will be very small and probably just 2 of them so I am hoping this will be ok. I will go get a bigger battery if I need to. I am not sure how to connect the wiring.

Small how many watts are the bulb. A bigger battery is just going to mean just a little longer till your dead battery.
If you wire them in with your head lights it won't effect the battry You have to use a multi meter to find the high and low beam to figure out where to splice in

You can change over to leds and save some battery power.

It has LED's right now front and back. I just want to add a small light about the engine.
