Is it fine to spray paint your scoot muffler with regular spray paint? i painted the front part (header) only of the muffler cause it was corrosive.

The heat is just going to make the paint peel off.

You should pick up a can of high temp pain , clean off all the paint you put on and repaint it, or wait for the paint to burn off on its own then repaint.

Paint can spontaneous combust once it 300 deg Exhaust pipes can reach over 800 deg and chrom starts to blue at 400 deg Think about it you can have gets of around 1000 deg coming out your pipe

It will smoke for sure as it burns off And yes it could catch fire ive had 7 people tell me no fire? if you build up many coats of paint on the exhaust close to where it comes out of the head and ride it hard it will burn complete with flame trust me i have done on a GY6 engine 4 speed gearbox type I have burns on my legs not from flames off paint but the lasting burns are from 2 strokes cause the exhaust gets hotter on them My GY6 had flaming exhaust got stickered by the Police as they couldnt catch me in traffic 72cc 60kmh in second gear not that liable but dont dismiss it myself things you learn the hard way is lesson learnt Asking 7 people aint going to change your personal experience is it?

If you don't mind black, BBQ paint is a good option. It can handle 600 degrees F. It is black, and usually flat black. It is also $3/can U.S. Bonus.
