When I try to start it with the vac line off of the petcock, I just get intermittent pulls, definately not a steady pull. About to go out and see what else I can somehow find on it, wife had me doing yardwork! The audacity.

Yeah the valve needs the vacuum line to work in that petcock.

Ok, so I did drain the tank and went to check it, when I was getting the float out, it disentegrated lol, that was a fun hour, but I got it all out, flushed with gas and re installed, still nothing, I was able to keep it running but had to open the throttle alot and then back to just not starting. Almost seems like gravity naturally brings the gas down while its resting and once I use it, no vacuum to get it back down. Just keep thinking it has to be something simple, since it was running great one moment and then nothing. Should I be looking at the valves for an adjustment?

I thought we mentioned the valves before, very common for them to need adjusting.

If you adjust them be sure the motor is cold.

I could have missed that lol, scoots been sittin since last night, so I'll pull up the valve adjustment procedure and knock that out. I also think my wife has me buying 3-4 more broken scoots now as well lol, so the help here is really invaluable, thanks again!

Did the valve adjustment, was very tight at first, then was too loose and then got one right and had to re do the bottom this morning. It seems to be starting better, it started every time, but would only run for a few seconds before shutting off. Going to take it to a friend that has more small engine experience than me today, hopefully he can maybe point me to something here lol, I think I've exhausted everything I can think of doing.

Feeling semi sheepish lol, pulled the carb again and this time remembered to pull the jets out, the main (big) is covered in gunk and looks horribly stopped up. Gotta get more carb cleaner in the am n hopefully this'll fixer up lol.

Sounds like the issue. A clogged jet just does not work well.
