You can always sell parts of it or use the parts to fix another bike worth fixing. That's true , It's gonna be awhile before I do any wrenching on anything seeing how I just had triple by pass heart surgery in the last part of may and my shoulder and chest muscles aren't quite strong enough yet . But I have been thinking of making a new project out of it yet . The one thing that I never had a complaint about on that bike though is the engine , it always started and ran nice every time , so , that should be a good starting point.

Thank you Rebel , I agree totally , I wish I was riding scooters right now , I always bounce back and I will be back in the saddle again , I've loved scooters all my life and that's not gonna change until they pull my cold dead hands off of the handlebars . Ride on brother and sister SCOOTISTS . daddue

I just got a Ice Bear Zodiac it's got a couple hundred miles on it so far ,my wife took it out a couple of times come in last week and says to me when are you going to get yours. So I just ordered a white one so we are a trike family. The reason it only has low miles we go for schooling for trike riding around aug 12 yep wife is going to. The only problem I had was reverse went in so quickly it would knock you off seat. Rapid Jim told me where to adj the reverse and it ready to roll. Being 65 plus and wife trikes are the best for us. I can't believe a 300 cc can move as fast as I had it. I had may people comment on styling it's just a cool bike happy triking maybe see you down the road.

Hey mj, so you got yourself a headache, er, I mean Sunny reverse trike. I've got the big one, 300 cc trike like daddue(got mine about a year after he got his-it's a 2012 model). I think I'm one of the very few with one still on the road. In three years I've had issues from brakes, steering, suspension, lights, fuel delivery, fuel leaks, wheel alignment, wheel balance, motor mount... well you get the picture. I have tried everything, and I mean everything to get rid of the vibration in this thing and I've nearly solved it. First and foremost you've gotta have good tires. If you've got Chinese tires still on the thing don't think about it just get them off and replace them with Michelins(my preference) or another top brand and get 'em properly balanced. Second, make sure all suspension and steering components are tight. Third, align the wheels so that they are all parallel to one another and have equal spacing on each side of rear wheel(alignment is critical). I got this far and thought I had the vibration licked but would still get what I call the "death shakes" at times when I applied the brakes. Vibration bad enough to scare the shlitz out of ya. So back to the drawing board(and forum boards) I went and found where a guy put steering stabilizers on his and it helped. I didn't like the idea of two stabilizers or the way they would need to be mounted so I decided on a single stabilizer mounted to the frame and to the steering bracket that the tie rods are attached to. Here's some pics. Couldn't believe it but the death shakes have been eliminated. Now I am a glutton for punishment(and cheap) and I'm still runnin' the original tires on the front(which I know are out of round) but since this stabilizer has gotten rid of the shakes I'm just tryin' to get as much use out of them as possible before replacing them. The biggest/most dangerous issue I've had with mine(and daddue with his) has been with the motor mount. Hopefully on the smaller machines they hold up better but the rubber bushings crack and separate and mine even broke in half! As this mount and the rear shocks are the only things keeping the motor attached to the trike it's not good when this happens. I replaced all the rubber bushings on mine with urethane and replaced the bolt sleeves with a tighter tolerance sleeve. Had a guy at work weld the thing back together after it broke with extra supports on the side. Other than having to shim the motor mount bushings on the transmission due to rear wheel side to side play, it's been ok since. By the way, good to hear from ya daddue, and sorry to hear about your troubles but glad you're ok. Take care of yourself bud.

Welcome to the forum new2scootn and thanks for the information you posted. I have never heard of anyone being lucky in fixing the deaths shakes. I did speak with a fellow in Bonham Texas once that said his ran fine but I don't think he ran it at highway speeds.

Thanks Rebel. If nothing else, I am persistent. Heck, you have to be to keep these things on the road! Got her nearly reliable and (I'm not sure if I can say this out loud)-safe(?)...that is if the motor mount and all the other less than stellar welds hold together! She used to go over 80 mph but since I put the windscreen on she's only good for about 74. Can't believe they're still selling these things without updated/upgraded parts and mods. Icebear was smart to drop them early on from their lineup. Ah well, at least all the tinkering keeps me out of trouble...

there is a simple fix to the vibration problem for those who are still looking and it is to install steering dampers on the front suspension as per the youtube video many other problems with the dong fang bikes are common with most Chinese scooters just remember when you have 2 front wheels they have to be aligned just like a car or any 4 wheeled vehicle. I have been working on scooters for a long time now and I am an ASE certified Tech in the automotive field . I bought a used Dong Fang reverse trike 50cc that was modified to a 150cc had to rewire the whole whole bike and repair what other idiots screwed up, like putting the wrong shocks on the front end but with research and patients found a local dealer willing to help and the factory website downloads for parts for these bikes . I hope this helps anyone who is looking for simple answers.
