could be a bearing, sure. If you have the area located then it is a question of taking it apart and finding the broken piece. Is Jonway still selling their version of your scooter?
did not know jonway sold a xingyue
what if yes?

If it is a bearing you should be able to move the wheel and feel roughness in the movement, there could also be a lot of wiggle if you try and move the wheel from side to side. It is probably just going to take some tear down to get at the problem.

I'm certainly not an expert, could the bell housing be out of balance or dinged/bent?

I'm certainly not an expert, could the bell housing be out of balance or dinged/bent? after a lot of listening it is for sure this BMS 180 cc lemon engine i bought.
the valves are 004 but something is whacking something real hard when the engines runs
bell housing is a good guess, but the noise is else where mayby i will follow directions below except the engine not me

Sorry Terra,
You don't know how much easier it is to have a scooter in front of you to listen to and look at rather than try and figure it out asking questions, well that is my opinion.
I hope the shop does not charge you too much.

HI REBLE
WOW first bike i put a real 14,000 miles on , last 7-9000 on boron, this bike 2000 miles engine is gone.
crank bearings are gone, am told this may have wrected the cylender shaft as well.
it sounds horrorble.
I may be history with china bikes.
Wont rave , but if this happens again soon, it would break me.
i just spent the cost of the bike, changing out to a new engine, that engine is history at 2000 miles and that is after a whole starter gear change out for nothing.
I am very very good at maintanence, but am not a wrencher, don't like working on these things deep.
My hope no longer springs eternal
