I'm spent out for now, but I plan to take the bike to a guy I know in a few weeks for a once-over, basically a thorough mechanical inspection. I bought the bike from a co-worker and I know he didn't abuse it but not sure how he did on the maintenance, but I know he has only put 3k miles on it. He bought it with 7k miles on it from a reputable Honda dealer a couple weeks after I got my scooter.

Honda builds solid bikes, you'll have thousands of good miles on it.

I was doing some cleaning up around the house and came across the decals for my scooter, which I never put on. I wonder how they would look on my Honda Shadow? lol

Hmm, you'll give your Honda a identity crisis.

The antithesis of those who put "Kawasaki" badges on their Chinese Sport bikes.
Seriously though, not the "TaoTao" insignia but those other decals might look pretty good. I might give it a whirl, I was just gonna toss them anyhow. If I don't like it... peel 'em off.

Hey, in the end it is all yours to play with, the bike don't really care.

Hondas are great and you were wise to get a cruiser style instead of crotch rocket as its not comfy to be leaned forward so on long rides . I have had nothing but love from all of my Hondas .
On your scooter have you have the valves adjusted ? All 4T scooters will need this service at times . I would do a plug chop to see the color of the sparkplug tip as factory carbs are often too lean . If lean it will be whiteish , where a dark caramel is great but black means its too rich .
My CFMoto Echarm has 10,300 miles and only changed the oil , 1 valve adjustment , new airfilter and low beam burned out . I can still smoke any 150 and I have never had to push it home .

My Honda has a uncomfortable seat, a old standard bikes really are more comfortable than the Honda Rebels are.

Sold the Scooter. It was due for some maintenance but I bought the Honda and didn't need it I did not buy the Chinese scooter for the challenge. I bought it because that's what I could afford at the time :-)
