Ah, sweet! That' something like my Phongeer that I'm quite fond of. Just don't go wild with porting and you'll probably enjoy it. I thought you were going to use the Polini.

That should be fine. Some 90cc scooters and ATVs come with the same size carbs as the 50s stock.

and the waiting game begins. cant wait for the engine to get here. its going to be fun figuring out how to wire a jog engine to a vino wire harness. might have to switch the stater assemblies out

My 21mm with a stock airbox, similar exhaust, and a bit more aggressive porting than this will likely have uses 95-98 main. The 21mm came with a 50 pilot stock and I ended up at a 35 to be in tune. It's best to start on the rich side, so I wouldn't drop to my numbers, but maybe decrease both a little. Or just try to be patient, and you'll see for sure when you get it running. lol
I wouldn't worry too much about that example at SD. What I see in those pics looks like you'd replace the plug, dust it off, and go on about your way. Not really that alarming to me as far as what he received. Prob the worst thing shown is the packing and how it could end up cracking an engine if FedEx gets careless enough and throws it farther than normal.

I'll never understand why people do not re-size the photos they post so that they will fits fit the screen and next not take long for dial up users to actually see them. just rude in my opinion. So for that, he can go buy a new spark plug and I won't feel bad for him. Now the motor looked pretty greasy in some places and that makes me wonder if it was actually a new motor or not.

i also noticed that the seals looked like someone threw some silicone on it and put it back together. but i guess ill have mine by next week and ill find out. i plan on recording when i open the box and ill have to check the exhaust port, take the head off and look for any evidence of carbon buildup and take the cvt cover off and look for wear on the variater and also check for belt dust. if it looks like new on the inside then its all good. if not.... well i think you know what will happen.

Scrappy in the past has been a good source of parts and I find it hard to believe they would send out a used motor and call it new. I'm sure you will keep us informed as to what you get.

I think the worst case scenario is a reconditioned engine. I really doubt you're gonna get an engine that has been ran on it's current build. A couple of folks from SD and my forum have got these engines before, and what you posted is the first complaint I've seen.
